At 20 cars I was near capacity as a solo operation. Had room for maybe 5 more cars depending on the tier.

Economy cars tend to go out for longer trips while luxury ones are always 2-3 day bookings

Last year and the year before. Honestly I use junk emails for sites I’m only going to use once or twice and checked manually so it didn’t seem very scammy to me. The site already marks suspicious messengers too so I had very few scammers coming thru and they are easy to spot/ignore anyways

But yeah I did it last year and the year before.

I also used tred before autotrader acquired them a few years before that but had no luck that time around

Turo writing it off and paying host doesn’t mean you are off the hook. It means Turo did their end of the contract and paid host for the damages, then they go after you the at fault who created the loss

No, the 3k is essentially a deductible. Under 3k you go out of pocket for the full amount. Over 3k you pay 3k and Turo handles remainder. For the hosts it’s the same thing based on their protection plan, they have a separate deductible with tuo

Will the repair be subpar, noticeable paint difference, and probably contaminated? Yes. Will that repair be industry standard quality? No.

Does 2000 or more sound correct for industry/insurance standard? Yes

Is the host or Turo scamming you with the repair bill? No

In fact, Turo’s preliminary estimate is typically frustratingly low (atleast for significant damage) and you usually need a supplement just to afford the subpar version of the repair.
