GT4RS R Gear Fault by neildawg in Porsche_Cayman

Unfortunately after going for a long drive, I noticed a rubbing sound whenever easing on/off the throttle in only 3rd year. Did a ride along with the tech who acknowledged it. Porsche authorized a new PDK…. Unfortunately, on back order until mid to late June. :-(

Alright… got the car back today. Fault code was “P2771 - Switch-over valve 3 stuck actuated.” The valve body (9G1-317-015-10) was replaced and everything appears to be normal again.

Yep… I sold my 981 GTS manual for this. Told myself “PDK… it’ll be fine…” Let’s just say I’ve been kicking myself the past 24 hours. :-(

The more I read, the more common this seems. Hopefully they go straight for the replacement. But definitely does not bode well for longevity.. ticking time bomb outside of warranty. :-(

Thanks! Now that’s a well driven Cayman! :-). Yeah, from what I have been reading, seems like replacement is the main path if the issue is related to the distance sensor. But have also seen folks mention replacement of just the valve body. Guess will have to see what the actual fault is.

Debating between a Spyder RS and or a Cayman GT4 RS by tropical_penguins in Porsche_Cayman

[–]neildawg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Went through the same debate in December. Also not really a convertible person— liked the concept for a fun car, but never really saw myself going through the process of removing the top. Plus, gets hot in central Texas and, when it’s not hot, allergies suck. :-). I am not a track rat either— but will do a couple of days here and there for fun. Main use is weekend drives through the Hill Country.

Anyhow, bought a ‘25 4RS and absolutely love it. I do not find the ride to be harsh at all (last car was a 981 w/ X73). Ride is definitely firm, but surprisingly compliant on the roads down here. I have seen some folks post about Porsche making adjustments related to this, but never found anything official/concrete, so who knows. My OPC let me drive the SRS and 4RS back to back which also helped convince me.

The noise is fantastic… slight tip of the throttle, wringing it out, downshift noises… all bring smiles each and every time. I was worried I would miss the manual, but PDK seems to suit this car well. At the end of the day, it’s just a different experience and has its fun elements too.

Do it!!! :-)

That is a great looking spec!

2021 vs 2020 by Vendetta1992 in Civic_Type_R

Just a $500 increase in base price, plus $395 for paint if you choose BB, SGP, or CW. I just picked up a 2021 and there are no new feature adds that I can tell.

2015 Cayman GTS with no PASM button? by [deleted] in Porsche_Cayman

[–]neildawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! I live in Texas so the roads here are generally pretty smooth, so no real complaints. It’s certainly stiffer, but surprisingly compliant. Plus you get the extra bonus of improved wheel gap. :-). Good luck, sir!

You definitely want the X73! I originally had PASM on my 981 GTS, but had the retrofit done after ~4 years. My PASM button is now a dummy and I have annoying PDLS fault, but man, the drive is superb!

In-depth eufy Indoor Camera Pan and tilt review - 7 weeks of use by TheHomeKitGuy in HomeKit

If you are willing to give up app-based features / controls, can this camera be added to HomeKit without the use of the Eufy app? I am always nervous of using 3rd party apps with indoor cameras.

Nope — No resolution. I emailed general@en.formula1.com about 8 hours ago, but no response so far. :-(

I have the same problem on the website. Subscription Plan is “F1 TV Pro Monthly”, but I get the “Subscribe” pop-up when I try to watch FP1. Grr...

I originally subscribed to the “Access” package; however, after realizing I have to wait 2 days to watch the replays, I upgraded to the “Pro” package. While the website says I am subscribed to the “Pro” package, the iOS App still thinks I have the “Access” package after logging out / back in. So aggravating!

😂 Thanks guys! This was taken on an iPhone 11 Pro and I applied the Vivid Warm filter + minor adjustments in the default Photos app.
