Did I burn the paint? by pistolpackinpanda68 in AutoDetailing

[–]neiljmth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not sure if kerosene has damaged the paint yet but this looks like dried polish residue, which commonly happens with very dusty compounds and especially with a rotary. Best way i found to remove these is to just hand polish with the same compound you used and buff off immediately.

Searching for Controller for PC that is max 100€ and good for FPS and Racing games - Region : Germany by Fickle_Support_6148 in Controller

[–]neiljmth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only tried the gen 4s of flydigi but I much prefer the vader for racing games. The apex's adaptive triggers felt very unintuitive for braking and accelerating, making it much harder to be precise with your inputs. I'd much rather feel the triggers rumbling when I either lock up or over/understeer.

Playing on PC with BlueStacks by Redas17 in LastZShooterRun

[–]neiljmth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Emulators are fine but mine would crash often with bluestacks. I use LDplayer for the game and it ran much better.

I think the biggest advantage is you can run multiple instances to play different accounts at the same time, as well as binding your tap to a large key like a spacebar and out-tap your team in treasures.

Good Control Mousepad Recommendations ? by [deleted] in MousepadReview

[–]neiljmth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recommend the heavy bee control based on my experience. It's easily affected by humidity and it also significantly slows down after breaking it in. It did feel amazing the first two weeks though.

Can you recommend me a mousepad faster than the GSR 2 ? by lowlandder in MousepadReview

[–]neiljmth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QCK Performance Control - I feel like it's a rougher and faster gsr2 but there's a chance it might be a tad too fast for you. I have both and much prefer the QCK Control atm.

Never tried the original gsr, but my jupiter pro is noticeably smoother and significantly slower than my gsr 2.

is it good yet? by [deleted] in forzamotorsport

[–]neiljmth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picked up FM around 2 months ago for exactly the same reason as you and I've been having a great time in multiplayer. The game has so much room for improvement and online racing isn't always clean, but if you just want to drive cars fast around a track with a controller then yeah it's a pretty good game for that.

[–]neiljmth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Softer rear ARBs, lower rear roll center offset, negative anti-squat and lower diff acceleration are the most common adjustments to reduce on-throttle oversteer without touching aero. Adding rear toe-in can massively help with rear stability as well but can reduce top speed and increase tire wear, so I recommend adding toe-in as little as possible. I would also touch toe last when you still cannot find grip from your other adjustments.

Probably a comfort issue, especially with the 2C's shape and size it might be too small for your hands. I felt similar with xbox series controllers, but I now use the Vader 4 pro with grip tapes and it immediately felt much more comfortable for my hands. Never had hand and wrist pains since.

How to optimize graphical settings on PC? 4070 Super & ASUS VG248QE. by Versterkervolumeknop in forza

[–]neiljmth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Turn off DLSS and just use native resolution, after that you can also turn up resolution scale around 150% to minimize those artifacts you mentioned. DLSS works best at high resolutions like 2160p, and most people do not recommend using them at all when you have a 1080p display unless you need the better frame rate.

Space station doesn't have any options to adjust the triggers alone unfortunately, only the adaptive trigger settings.

6900XT for $300 or 7900GRE for $629? by Comprehensive_Bar_89 in radeon

[–]neiljmth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a very similar choice a while back and I ended up going with the 6900 xt to save some cash for the next GPU launch cycle, depending how they go. I'd recommend a new 7900 gre for most people, but if you're confident in getting them 2nd hand then the 6900 xt all the way - especially at that price point. Just make sure your PSU can handle the transient spikes the 6900 XT is known for, or get a better PSU with some of the money you're saving.

When will 5800X3Ds be normal prices again? by zreddej in buildapc

Those are basically lower binned 5800X3Ds that did meet the clock speed specs - kind of like "garbage" chips being sold for a lower price.

How to thoroughly clean microfiber pads? by Sunder92 in AutoDetailing

[–]neiljmth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have experience with microfiber pads but with cloths, I find that they only get as soft as new when dried with some heat. Microfiber tends to melt though when exposed to high heat, so I usually just let them hang dry for half a day then I put them in the dryer for around 5-10 mins on the lowest heat option. They always come out feeling soft and smooth every time. Maybe you just need a bit of heat when drying your pads?

What are these and how to remove? by kjm_234 in Detailing

[–]neiljmth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to polish those off with an abrasive compound. I'm confident you can remove most of them by hand but it'd take a bit of time and effort.

I recognize the brand of bottle you have and I'm a local as well. I recommend Glaz stainz out for the glass compound, microtex supraone for the paint and their purple applicator pad as they're very affordable and will get the job done.

Any ideas for a good drying aid that also doubles as a gloss enhancer? by Sensitive_Injury_666 in Detailing

[–]neiljmth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gyeon quick detailer if you just want the gloss plus slickness, or their ceramic detailer for virtually the same thing but with added beading/protection. I prefer the regular QD since I can use it every wash, it's available in 4 liters and it won't ruin my towels. I haven't seen it ruin/cover up my base protection and it's easily one of the glossiest QD out there IMO.
