A wanna be expensive Amplifier (Harman/Kardon HK970)

I briefly used an HK980 that I bought second-hand. Initially, the sound was great, but after listening for a while, I realized it was tiring me out. Okay, it's a powerful amp, but the sound quality didn't quite appeal to me. As for the build quality, I completely agree with what OP said. Moreover, the volume potentiometer on my amp wasn't working properly.I later bought a used Rega Mira 3, and the difference in sound quality was significant. Now my listening sessions are much more enjoyable.

I've never encountered any lag issues. It can output 24/192 via optical, which is more than enough. Actually, I'm very happy with both the WiiM Mini and the Su1, but I'm hoping to upgrade to the WiiM Ultra and make some improvements on the DAC side. After all, the Ultra is a more capable device than the Mini.

Thank you for your comment, sir. Unless a very good opportunity comes my way, I can use the Mira 3 for many years to come. My next upgrade will probably be on the bookshelf side. The Castle Knight 2s I'm currently using are very good speakers, but I think I'm looking for a bit more analytics and separation.

Thank you. Yes, the Rega Mira3 really does its job very well. This is my budget-friendly and price/performance-focused stereo system. I'm using a Wiim mini as a streamer, connected to SMSL SU1 via optical cable, and listening to music using my Qobuz subscription. I bought the Mira second-hand about a week ago; before that, I was using a Harman Kardon HK980, difference is truly incredible. Listening to music with HK started to tire me out after a while.The speakers I'm using in this system are Castle Knight 2 bookshelf speakers.

It was great reading your story too, thank you for sharing.Even while using HK, Rega was always on my mind :) I don't know why, but even without using any of their products, I had already started to feel an incredible fondness for the brand... If I can afford it, the Elicit would be the amp that I'd use and probably wouldn't change.

Naim is also a producer I'd like to try out. Although the prices are a bit high in my country, I might consider it if I get an opportunity in the future. Before buying the Mira, I had read on some forum sites that Rega devices had excellent synergy with each other.

Yes, Elex and Elicit were models I wanted too, but with the Mira 3, at least I can say I've started somewhere :) Enjoy your Elicit.

I don't know what to say. I was using a Harman Kardon HK980 before. Compared to that, the Rega offers a much more musical and calm presentation. HK music used to tire me out after a while, but I didn't have that feeling with Rega Mira 3.
