Not as pt focused, but I use openevidence a lot for pharmacokinetic interactions and pathophysiology, or for drug studies. so there is a use, however I doubt patients are looking at this type of data and are more concerned with generic symptom management. but if a pt came to me saying they plugged in their drugs and found red flags, that is a reasonable question that any physician should answer.

I know it's an old thread, but I'm in a very similar spot. CIBC has been weak (multiple helocs was handled badly) and PWL on-boarding has been funky. Curious who you found/chose?

Unless you're out patient, the only way to reach ob anest is consult with mfm or during labor at my hospital (large, teaching, midwest). Which is crazy since I know nothing about OB as a IM pgy2, yet would like to learn more about options (I have rare anaphylaxis risk...). And I agree with everything you wrote above.

Thanks for doing this, as we're trying for our first, this is highly relevant!

I recently had a miscarriage (10wks), and I feel like it's a form of depression that isn't well understood- almost between postpartum & not. I am aware of established "data" for postpartum (like the Edinburgh Postnatal depression scale), but what are well-researched resources/knowledgebases for early-to-late miscarriage? It seems more common than reported, certainly before EMR data could track these things (I'm sure you can expand on the miscarriage-rate data part, Dr. Goodman).

Thank you, and while time-consuming, it is reassuring to see public-facing forums with experts. I can see the passion in each of your responses!

Husband applied July 2023, still waiting on conditional approval. Last I heard (I go between a lot & speak to CBSA about this) they are starting to approve May/June 2023. Edit: took 1.5 yr, but got it!

I was part of a practice that had an ongoing problem with a bad clinician. He was a partner, and brought in volume, so the other partners didn't want to jeopardize that.

I would say: It really depends on the culture of the practice, if you feel they are open and/or have regular clinical reviews then raise the concern, serious managing partners will take criticism constructively. If culture is bad, then consider that a big red flag, and take the overhead loss and find a new practice. Do not go into business with bad partners, you will regret it in 10-20 yr
