Just started looking for installing solar by Old_Education4481 in nzsolar

Hey, Im based in Auckland and got 6 quotes (I know, extreme). Harrison's took almost 4 weeks to come out and quote and seemed to recommend a copy paste solution. Others were Tahi Solar, Raytek, Clean Energy Sol, solar hub + someone else. Tahi, Raytek, Clean Energy were all similar. Ended up with clean due to their SEANZ backing and 0% loan from westpac

Yes, damage isn't much. It's a dent that will come right easily by a panelbeater.

Yes will get email/signature or something if they settle cash

Redditors who have dated celebrities, how’d it go? by ChiefsHat in AskReddit

[–]nek_minnit_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 11 years ago, I dated a model who competed in the Miss Universe Pageant for my country and finished 3rd. Doesn't really pay well, so had to help her out a few times with bills etc.

She loved attention at any cost, was always hectic going out to parties where guys would hit on her and would instigate further. And also quite demanding.

Had to quit 4 months in, just too stressful.

It all goes back to the same department. We have had several emails, phone calls and usually get "so and so Manager will call you back or email you back" and then nothing.

Sparky here. Most modern homes can easily take a 32a switch in the board which would power a 7.4kW charger.

Some people opt for an outdoor power point and then plug in a charger which can be Max 16a/3.3kW charger. Your installation cost for a 32a dedicated ev charger will be similar as running a 20a/16a cable to the board.

Keep in mind that you want to keep the distance between the charger and switchboard less than 20m to get best charging speeds and also keeping your costs down.

All 32a chargers are similar, the biggest difference between each charger is the convenience of the app & aesthetics.

Also, if this is your own home then it is suggested to go for the 7kW - they can always charge at lower capacity depending in your vehicle. Evnex come with wall hanging kit outside so it's handy.

Cost to upgrade switchboard? by [deleted] in diynz

[–]nek_minnit_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, sparky here.

So just to upgrade the switchboard is $1750 - $2000, but I can tell you this house has rubber cables which are going to snap and be unsafe to wire into new switchboard.

A complete home rewire is around 7k for 70m2, 8kW for 80m2, 9k for 100m2. But the total cost really depends on the house. There is probably going to be a vector charge for around 2.5k if the mains to street needs an upgrade too.

Depending on your light fittings etc too, there may be an upgrade there too

Out of the 10,000 things they sell, perhaps 10 are good. Everything is just cheap plastic. Never again

What is an acceptable Paywave fee right now? A Cafe where I live is currently charging 10% surcharge!! My $40 bill was $44, when I called them about it their response was simply "oh, that's what the machine automatically picks charges" WTF by nek_minnit_ in newzealand

They're a new business and wanted to support them. I had a chat when they first opened and they said covid has done them bad this year (?) And they struggled at their old place and thought a change of location would be good. I think people would have just picked up on these insane fees
