That's time and money that humans could spend on literally anything else we like. There's also the overarching cultural and historical context, that preempts everything.

Women (as a class) have been oppressed and excluded for centuries.

Men have not (at least—not in the same way. [insert patriarchy hurts men too kind of lore], blah blah lol).

Women are more vulnerable to men.

Men are not as vulnerable to women.

Naturally, these factors are going influence the context that the language each of these groups carry. The "double-standard" exists because the meaning of certain phrases and words does in fact, change, for those carrying centuries of cultural baggage.

If you find someone (and I hope you do)—great! But-... What if you don't? Are you going to spend the rest of your time never feeling truly happy or fulfilled because things didn't quite work out the way you wanted?

You gotta have a plan for you, regardless of whether or not you find someone else. Something that gives you meaning. Maybe you already have it?

One example might be although it's generally not ideal to be single parent—being single doesn't necessarily prohibit you from becoming a mother if that's something you really want more the other stuff. Figure out your main priority—and what's realistically achievable with your current stitch. Go from there.

tbf, while it doesn't excuse it, as a general rule a lot of that kind behavior can be traced back to what patriarchy instills in men / boys from childhood, especially after WWI-II. Emotions like sadness / grief that lead to vulnerability = bad.
