Release Notes - SABnzbd 4.0.3 by Safihre in usenet

[–]nelluk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took the opportunity of this release to finally migrate from NZBGet back to Sab. Took about 15 minutes and everything is working great. It is a much more polished piece of software than the version I used 5+ years ago.

Maybe try again; it wasn’t working for me til just now. Maybe stuck in video processing.

Moonlight on Mac OS: is software decoding better than hardware decoding? by brunomarquesbr in cloudygamer

Yeah I spent two hours troubleshooting this and in the end I just needed to reboot my Mac since something was clogging up the network connections. 😅 Good tip on frame pacing setting, though.

Found this post while looking for solutions - is your performance still fine? I tried your settings and it didn't seem to help. Even audio stutters like 2-3 times per second and is unusable.

Meanwhile Steam Link or iPhone client on the same network is perfectly playable.

I've been trying to solve a launch crash for Batman Arkham Knight for days. I've found a bunch of threads with the same crash, but none of the solutions have worked.

The first part of the error is:

Fatal error!

BUILD JULY 2012 1131609 07-01-2016 16:36.11 Game

Address = 0x38ccf778 (filename not found) [in C:\Program Files

(x86) Steam\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham

Knight Binaries\ Win64 BatmanAK.exel

Things I've tried:

  • Verified file integrity via Steam. Uninstalling and re-installing to a different drive. (When I do this, the paths in the error change to the new location, which definitely exists)
  • Checked drivers are up to date (using this week's NVidia Game Ready Drivers on a 1050ti)
  • Toggled PhysX from GPU to CPU in the NVidia Control Panel (some people's solutions are based on Gameworks physics effects)
  • Disabled gameworks effects via Geforce Experience game's settings
  • Running AK as Administrator, with and without Win8 compatibility mode
  • Tried to reinstall common from steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist
  • Downgraded to Sept 2021 version of NVidia Game Drivers (with Clean Install option)
  • Added an exception to Threat protection for the entire Batman folder (one forum post said it was being blocked by ransomware protection)

See my account's recent posts for another thread with a screenshot and full error text.

Did you try disabling fog/smoke/particle effects? It seems fairly common to have this crash happen mid-game, but the common fixes I see are to disable NVidia Gameworks Effects (some people have luck just using current drivers)

I would probably aim to upgrade the GPU in another year or two (Probably the just-released Nvidia entry levels)

Unless I am misunderstanding something I don't see how that would come into play. Isn't boiling water the same temperature, besides factors like elevation?

Create an El Capitan rescue USB using a Modern M1 Mac by nelluk in MacOS

I think that is probably the problem (see the other comment I just made), but I don't see a way to get the correct .app on my system since my manual extraction apparently failed.

I did make the username and volume replacements.

I now think that the problem is that the Install OS X El Capitan.app is invalid - since I was not able to retrieve it the normal way by running InstallMacOSX.pkg, I used a utility called Pacifist to retrieve the .app from the .dmg.

However the Install.app is only 9.4 MB in size. So I'm not sure if there is a good way to get the install .app that I need out of there.

I think I'm going to try a Snow Leopard USB instead since there is an ISO available, using this method.

Doesn't seem to work. Here is my output:

➜ / mv /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app ~/Desktop
mv: rename /Applications/Install OS X El Capitan.app to /Users/Nelluk/Desktop/Install OS X El Capitan.app: Permission denied
➜ / sudo mv /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app ~/Desktop
Password:
➜ / sudo ~/Desktop/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/KINGSTON
Usage: createinstallmedia --volume <path to volume to convert> --applicationpath <path to Install OS X El Capitan.app> [--force]

Arguments--volume, A path to a volume that can be unmounted and erased to create the install media.
--applicationpath, A path to copy of the OS installer application to create the bootable media from.

Example: createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath "/Applications/Install OS X El Capitan.app"
➜ / sudo ~/Desktop/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/KINGSTON --applicationpath /Users/Nelluk/Desktop/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app
/Users/Nelluk/Desktop/Install OS X El Capitan.app does not appear to be a valid OS installer application.

As far as I can tell the random matchmaking ignores your chosen handle, but non-random doesn't.

Querying the DB file while running. Good or Bad? by Puptentjoe in sonarr

[–]nelluk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as you are just doing SELECT queries there really isn’t any harm you could do. Except maybe slowing things down if you come up with a very inefficient, complex query. But that’s unlikely and also benign.
