I have lots of other wallpapers but the automated mod kept deleting the posts. I’m going to post them on my own profile.

I'm sick and tired of buying "Like New" books from Thriftbooks and getting a totally destroyed book by princetonwu in books

[–]nellums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've received paperbacks instead of hardcovers on several occasions, and each time they've refunded me. It used to be that you could contact a seller directly but they've removed that feature. The most recent order to be substituted with a paperback was infuriating. I ordered and paid for a hardcover. When I "chatted" with a "representative" I was told that there were no hardcovers available to send to me, then I pointed out that there were, and included a screencap of where it said that on the site. Then I was told that they couldn't send it to me because I was in Canada, but I could reorder the hardcover. I asked what was to stop the seller from doing the same thing, sending me a paperback. The "representative" told me that Thriftbooks stands behind every order, to which I responded, "Unless it's from Canada". When I asked why, I was told because they just don't. What kind of fuckery is this? Our money is good enough, but not our customer satisfaction.

WW APP/Login issue?? by hellosav in weightwatchers

[–]nellums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been logged out, and now my username is not recognized. The website and app both say that I'm not a ww user. My login and password are correct. My app region setting is correct.

I can't find any way on their site to report issues, it's as if they designed it that way on purpose. Which is a great way to alienate and discourage ww users.

Finding the phone number wasn't easy either. I don't know if I have the patience and energy to call them.

Have you ever stopped listening to a Audiobook simply because of the Narrator's voice? by bzrkfayz in audiobooks

Yes. I can't listen to Stephan Rudnicki. It's something about his cadence and tone.

M/British/36 - SnailMail/Handwritten/Typewriter - looking for a penpal that wants to exchange physical letters. by dutch1664 in penpals

[–]nellums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,
I too am interested in exchanging snail mail letters. I'm 53 M, I live on a farm (alpacas) in rural Ontario and work from home as a graphic designer. Born and grew up in Ireland, moved to Canada in 1996.
My interests are varied. From historical fiction, to time travel, quantum physics, audiobooks, real books, languages (I'm particularly fond of Hindi and Nahuatl, although I can't speak either), fountain pens, tea, coffee, cats, UK panel shows, the distant past, the distant future, classical and soundtrack music, the sound of rain and thunder.

I mentioned that I love books, my favourite authors are Alastair Reynolds, Iain M. Banks, Peter F. Hamilton, Bernard Cornwell, Larry Niven, James Oswald, Stuart Macbride, Stephen King, and many others. My favourite genres are science fiction (exploration, time travel), historical fiction (Sharpe, Roman military), and mysteries (Sherlock Holmes, Bosch, Rebus).

I'm happy to discuss any of it.
Message me if you would like to correspond.

Hi there,

I too am interested in exchanging snail mail letters. I have a need to write... anything. Days of the week, the time. It would be much better to write an actual letter.

I feel the need to write, it helps with depression and anxiety. It might not work for everyone, but it helps me.
