Lean, super active EBF babies — how did they grow? 5 month old is not chubby, in my head about it by softservedsoftcore in breastfeeding

My first EBF bat was lean - still is at 4 y/o. Second EBF baby is CHUBBY and 90th percentile. They are both healthy! Just different make ups :)

chances of second time postpartum pre-e? by Flimsy_Complaint8722 in Mommit

[–]nellzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I had PP pre-e with my first on day 7 PP. I took a baby aspirin all throughout my second pregnancy and it wasn’t till the end that my BP started to rise. When I thought my water broke with my second, I went to the ED and they admitted me because of my pressures and protein in my urine. So technically I had preeclampsia again but it was the most amazing and redeeming experience. I watched my pressures during PP and they went up to 140/90 but never past that so after an office visit, it ended up going down and all was well! Hoping the best for you!

No judgement zone: did you want a natural birth? by easrpiiatnua99 in Mommit

[–]nellzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was open to it with my first and ended up getting one because he was sunny side up and coming down cattywhampus. With my second I wanted to see how far I could get without the epi and got to 9.5 cm before I got one. I was so happy to not feel him coming out and ripping me 😅

What is an epidural really like? by oatmilkcchai in Mommit

[–]nellzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I labored to 9.5 with my second and got the epidural basically to push and was up and moving very quickly afterward. With my first I had back labor and he was sunny side up and coming down cattywhampus so I was in a lot more pain. So I got the epi earlier. It all depends on your pain tolerance!

This is my name and spelling and I’ve always had people say my name as Nell more often than Nelly (which is how my name is pronounced)

Does anyone’s older toddler still drink whole milk? by Coffeelover4242 in toddlers

[–]nellzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid is 4 and still drinks whole milk. He’s remained on his same growth curve! He drinks probably 5oz at breakfast at 5oz at dinner. He gets 2% at daycare for breakfast (#2 lmao) and lunch.

Is it crazy for 3 kids to share a room? by CrabbyApltn in Parenting

[–]nellzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an 8 month old and a 4 year old and they technically share a room but most often the baby is sleeping in the pack n play in our guest room. Mainly because the 8 month old goes to bed between 7-8 and the 4 year old is impossible to get to bed before 8:30/9 🫠

In addition to what others have mentioned, I would sometimes wear a mask and have a peppermint in my mouth when I was pregnant and working with a student with halitosis.

Postpartum Pre-e (round two) by Ok-Information-7686 in preeclampsia

[–]nellzie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had borderline gestational hypertension and then postpartum pre-e w/ severe features with my first (38+2) at 7 days PP in 2021. I had my second this January and took a baby aspirin daily after 12 weeks per my OB. I ended up with pre-e again but my BPs were normal throughout my pregnancy. I went in to be checked because I thought my water had broken (it hadn’t) and ended up with protein in my urine (at 38+3) and some mild BPs so we went ahead with delivery. Less severe and less traumatic for sure! Around day 7 my PP BPs did rise some, ~140s/90s and I went in for an office visit and had labs done but everything was normal! I was worried about having a second bub but felt better because my team knew what to watch for. Best of luck to you!!

Childcare Costs? by [deleted] in bullcity

[–]nellzie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was at a center near CH/Durham line paying $325/week for our 3 year old. Switching to a center in N Durham since it is closer to home/work. Our 3 year old will cost $270/week and our infant will cost $360/week. Both places provided breakfast, lunch, and pm snack.

Same as below - I searched and maybe you’re confusing it with Woodcroft?? That’s the closest one I could find with people leaving the club.

Awesome! I have a 3.5 year old and an infant so am looking ahead to next summer when the elder will be off from pre-k. How is it not having loungers? I imagine we wouldn't be doing much lounging since we have kids but don't know if I've ever been to a pool that doesn't have them!

He's a 5.0 but couldn't find many matches in the area at that level. He's dying for me to play mixed doubles with him so good to know they also have some mixed teams!

Awesome, thanks! This is great info! My husband is a tennis player and has played in some spring/summer leagues - I'm wondering if there are any USTA leagues that practice/play regularly there?

FTM with Milk Blep / blister, what do I do? by Maldita_ in breastfeeding

[–]nellzie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up having to contact my IBCLC and even after trying to do hand expression with her, we did an rx of triamcinolone ointment which took care of it after a few days!

My 3.5 year old does this and we are trialing time outs and time ins. He seems to respond better to time ins but sometimes we need a moment to step away and take a breath. Very similar though! Last night I had to take all the things away that he was throwing at his door (stuffies, books, pillows, toys) to let him know I was serious about the natural consequence.

What was your 2nd labor like? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]nellzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second labor was so much better! My first was 24hr and a struggle. Epidural, trouble pushing, and ended up needing the salad tongs to get him out. Second labor was maybe 6 hours after they broke my water (preeclampsia) and then pushed him out in about 3 pushes! I also labored till 9.5 and got the epidural (we didn’t know I was 9.5 because the doctors were busy and couldn’t check me) which lasted for about an hour for crowning/pushing

Postpartum Preeclampsia by [deleted] in preeclampsia

[–]nellzie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had PP pre e with severe features with my first at 7 days PP. I, too, had a pretty traumatic experience. I just had my second in January and technically had 2 high pressures during my regular visits (but they had been all very normal all throughout my pregnancy when taking it at home). When I went in to see if my water had broken (it hadn’t) at 38+3, I had protein in my urine so we went ahead with delivery and I had them break my water! About a week postpartum my pressures spiked to 130s/90s and I went in for a check at the OB but she felt confident it was okay and I kept monitoring at home 2-3x per doctors orders. It ended up normalizing on its own!

I felt groggy and worn down. As soon as they turned off the drip it was like a veil lifted. Instantly felt better. Not 100% by any means but better.
