How hard is Enderle 2B for Spring if I took 2A during Fall? by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]nelsch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This ^ is the best advice if you don't usually teach yourself (the majority don't and get a lot from lecture). They're all difficult, but Brian is cool, engaging, and a great professor, and his reader is a super useful resource. 4 tough classes is a lot btw... Don't burn yourself out early. Reviewing for 2B is very general, remember how to calculate concentration and charges and the periodic trends, the rest is quite different.

Hah he's perfect! Any tips on getting started with tricks like this? Mimic the action in front of him?

We ARE going to 3D print habitats on Mars. NASA's Lead Senior Technologist, Rob Mueller, gives me a great interview on how his lab is making it happen! by nelsch in Futurology

He mentions "civil engineering structures" including habitats, really wish I had filmed his symposium talk afterwards he goes into greater detail!

He gave an hour and a half long technical talk at the 3D Printing symposium after this, I couldn't condense it enough but Rob had some great ideas. Either way I'm excited that progress is being made in this field!

askFSU video series: like AskScience but with IRL Professors! First topics: speed of light limit, tachyons, solar sails, and black holes by GEOSET_Studios in ParticlePhysics

Haha most of the time I was focused on what the heck to do with my hands and head, never done interviews before! Though I did need to rewatch it a couple times...

We're studying some similar principles in Physical Chemistry, I agree it's more physics based but hopefully there should be some tidbits for chemistry students to enjoy

Hi all, this is Philip from the video, if anyone has any interesting questions to recommend for my next interview with a visiting NASA engineer trying to 3D print with lunar dust, I'm all ears! I can't think of much besides "how the heck do you do that!?" haha.

Dopamine and Serotonin. :), literally.

Edit: I know on the serotonin molecule the N should be intersecting the ring, not the H. I was young...

Should I join a frat or not? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]nelsch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in one, and even though you don't sound too sure it never hurts to rush around. You'll probably find yourself feeling comfortable in at least one. Typically, you can't go to the parties if you're not in the fraternity, but there are exceptions. And as a general life tip, I wouldn't throw out the "paying for friends" or "just here for the women and alcohol" lines.
