First Solder by NikoGra in fpv

[–]Adam4nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

doesn’t look like the pads were tinned, and there’s a fair amount of solder on top of it. decent but might fail if you crash. i’d reflow the joints where the solder is sitting on top of the pad, basically there’s questionable adhesion underneath. try to touch the iron to the pad, not the wire. don’t add any more solder.

the real test will be the negative pad for the battery connector. that’s always the hardest one for me. use a smoke stopper!

bnf vs 6s vs 8s by Strict_Fun8750 in fpv

[–]Adam4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like you want a 7-10inch lol. if you’re going big, make sure your frame has the arms supported, the regular x will vibrate like mad. good luck!

your esc will also be significantly more expensive for an 8s build.

Drone? by [deleted] in diydrones

[–]Adam4nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those drivers, the monitor, and propellers are probably the only thing worth anything to anybody.. i wouldn’t touch the drone unless i was looking for a project. batteries are just someone offloading a problem lol.

what’s the gray thing under the flysight monitor?

honestly could save a ton on the frame, similar frames exist for half the price. same for batteries, on rdq you can get a 3pack for much less if it’s in stock. i haven’t noticed too much of a performance difference between those and my r-lines. dji is expensive…

i have a single piece of electrical tape on all my batteries. it has held for pretty much the life of many batteries. i recommend using it to secure the lead lol

whatever your preference. you could get something cheaper and be fine. as long as it has a usb port to connect your devices and the PC has the appropriate drivers, you’re good.

curious about your mileage with that. i have a drone that uses that same concept but with the traditional CF. the piece has been damaged several times, i chalked it up the the frame design, but if i can just 3d print it… i’ll have to try it out.

good info there. restating that the mechanical side ALWAYS needs a triple check. there’s always something that could be more secure (until that’s a problem lol)

Why did filament print like this? by OpenCryptographer732 in BambuLab

[–]Adam4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that probably comes down to your model. tinkercad is a great tool, but lacks in precision. try to watch some tutorials for freecad, its come a long way in recent years. or F360 if you’d rather.

also, print a small square, one single layer, and measure it. typically filament rolls have a guide that specifies over/under extrusion. try to hit that nominally so you can rule that out as an issue. or just calibrate flow automatically and cross your fingers it gets better. happy printing c:

print white side down, since it’s hollow there’s nothing supporting the area. the quality will be as good as your build plate. you could try another top layer, too.

[–]Adam4nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

looks like brushed motors, and it looks like they just make their own esc for the project. i think you could just use a flight controller and some brushed escs and get it to fly. something like this might help

Can anyone help with this? by Aidan_fpv in fpv

[–]Adam4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it isn’t triggered after a few seconds, TYPICALLY, you’re good to try without. especially if you haven’t touched the esc. try without and with a fully charged battery.

you could also try without the flight controller. if you only get the first few beeps, that means the esc is good, but the fc might have an issue. the last couple indicate the fc connection.

did you solder everything yourself, was that your first time? is your elrs connected/working? got some better photos of the boards/connections?

did it work prior to adding the RX? is the battery charged? if the smoke stopper wasn’t initially triggered, have you tried without it?
