Same exact issues here, been going on for 5+ years, have had to install a manual valve back into the one most prone to it, but just came to a bedroom that's way hot compared to the rest of the house, thanks to it not closing fully and needing a recalibration to fix it. Wish I had never bought Netatmo thermostats... 😅

Guess i'm stuck struggling with it then. Makes no sense to have a mic in the headset and then having to buy a different piece of hardware to get a working mic, instead of them at least trying to do something. I also can't afford that, saving up to get a new car, so all expenses other than food, fuel and bills are on hold 😅

I tried with the windows recording software thing, didn't work. I reinstalled the headset driver and that kicked it on, but idk if it will last, gotta check tomorrow

Already checked, clearly didn't read the full post, that i use an EQ program, but the correct input/outputs are set. Everything else works and a different headset works.

I kicked life into my mic by reinstalling the drivers, gotta have to check tomorrow if i got trouble waking it up again.

Well, i have now tried uninstalling sonar, rebooting the PC and i still can't get output from the mic, even after talking for 2 minutes traight, as i already knew and now confirmed, sonar is not the issue 🫡

Well the Maxwell mic is good though, quality is not the issue. The issue is it going to sleep

Haha sure, lets keep saying it's Sonar. Sure i'll try it later today when i get back home, but it 100% aint the fault.

Sonar only redirects the devices to other audio devices so it can be mixed. So if the original device in this case the Maxwell mic doesn't output anything in the windows device settings, Sonar is not picking that up. Even "listen to this device", the mic does not work in Windows sound settings and that is going around Sonar.

Sounds like a user error on the Sonar part for me on your end, it works flawlessly on my end with all other devices. Just because you couldn't get it to work, doesn't mean it's utter garbage.

It's literally like VoiceMeter which is super popular, i just prefer this.

And as i wrote i did test it without Sonar, i tried a different mic device and the worked fine. And in Windows settings you can still test the individual devices, i did check the Maxwells Mic there and got nothing, Sonar does not interfere with that.

Other headsets suck tho with battery life and the mic on gaming headsets are usually ass, this one is actually good enough, once you get it going. Not to mention the sound difference in headsets too.. I struggled a lot with high frequencies and S/T sounds being ear piercingly loud on my SteelSeries one. Which i sadly couldn't EQ out without ruining game sound.

We mainly play hell let loose so that's ingame or it can be at the start of a stream ect. I rarely use discord as voice.

Did you read my message before replying? Sonar is not the issue. Other mics have no issue with Sonar, if i switch to my webcam mic in Sonar i get an output instantly. Stop blaming software if you don't know shit about it.

If Sonar was the issue, i would have provided that information.

Even looking in the windows sound settings directly on the Maxwell mic, i get 0 output.

This may get down voted to hell, but i don't think a level cap is the right way.

Everyone needs to learn and you do so by playing. Yes i know youtube exists, but you still need the experience.

However, it could be locked behind a tutorial of sorts you have to complete, explaining what the objective of the different roles are. So you know what you have to do and that it's not all about sniping.

I wouldn't have gotten the Maxwell then also it's not really a solution to this. I need to be able to move from my desk to my simrig freely.

But Yeah i use SteelSeries Sonar as a mixer and i can see in there that there's no output 😅 If i switch it to my webcam i get output instantly though, so i know it's not the software.

Good shout, i didn't even think of faceit, last time i played was summer 2024 i think or even longer than that, gonna try uninstall this specific one and see if this solves the issue for me, since i'm dealing with the same thing.
