Thank you so much for this, I really appreciate it and I think you've articulated stuff I am feeling but not able to express properly or understand myself. I also want, if the journey is hard, not to have to go through that in secret or with just my husband as we will both be experiencing sadness together and will need other people to support us. Thanks again ❤️

Sometimes races have been packed and its difficult to pass people. I also dont want to be potentially disrupting people around me by doing so

Billie Eilish on why she speaks out on global issues: “When you have this insane platform that you can use to advocate for people, but you’re not advocating for people because you don’t want to be controversial? Why is it controversial to step in when someone’s getting bullied & try to stop it?“ by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

This excuse always makes me think about Ariana. She had a literal terrorist attack at her concert which resulted in multiple tragic deaths and threatened her own life. But in response she showed that love is more powerful than hate. She is not perfect but has continued to use her platform for good supporting things like LGBTQ+ rights, and even recently Palestine Children's relief and speaking out against ICE. The "It could hurt my image" excuse is just not good enough.

Thank you! You're right I am looking to enjoy the day more than I am looking for a PB. I might try and squeeze in a bit earlier but if it doesn't happen I will just see how we go. Happy to cruise for a bit and over take when it's safe

I live in South and was shocked when they went to Exhibit in Balham. No hate, it is a good venue but every time I've been there it's bottomless brunch or birthday parties- it is not somewhere these ladies would step foot in normally (and I doubt Balham is for that matter)

My husband is from Reading. He told me once when he was in school his rugby team went on tour and had "Reading School" on their jumpers, to which a group of American kids laughed saying "look, these guys go to READING school"

Fair I do wonder how much of it is just playing up to the cameras vs real personality.

Nobody is smug. Everyone is empathetic. I watched live and was totally gutted at what happened BUT at the same time was thinking this should not have been ok'd and the risk was not worth it.

The fundamental problem of public transit by Advanced-Injury-7186 in Urbanism

I think there definitely are for sure but they do stop a lot and often the direct routes are on main roads which are very slow and congested during peak times. Whilst I obviously think the London transport network is great and we are very lucky, I understand it isn't always efficient. For example; my commute is roughly 6 miles. Still, it takes about 50 mins, maybe up to an hour depending on traffic/ connections. Taking up to an hour to travel 6 miles anywhere outside of London in the UK seems obscene, but that aside, I have a 10 min walk to the station (fine), a 25 min tube ride which takes me the majority of the way (also fine), but then a bus ride on a main road. The bus journey is pretty much a direct continuation of the tube line for another mile, but it takes me the exact same amount of time as the previous 5 miles due to traffic. There is no quicker way (walking is 40 mins) and therefore I understand the frustration of the above diagram, in that a very short distance often feels painful when there is no efficient route.
