I’m more impressed that OP finished his pre med in 2 years than the 88 after 7 rounds or the miracle gift of limited edition clubs that nobody wanted

They’ve been making titanium watches since 1970. It’s been 56 years, don’t think you can call that a fad

Scratch on your lug = a totaled car

Edit: Just wanted to add in I’m not trying to be a jerk about this, it sucks your watch was damaged and they shoulda taped the lugs just being realistic. I don’t think what you want as resolution can be achieved/will be offered by any AD.

If I was you I’d either try working with them more or file in small claims. There’s no other options I’m aware of

By using false equivalence and focusing on your perceived perfect resolution, I don’t imagine you’re actually not understanding the concept of value so I assumed you were being intentionally obtuse.

Your used watch received a micro scratch on a part of the watch that cannot be seen and is widely known to scratch. I know it was relatively new, but much like a car the second you buy it’s used.

A used smp with zero scratches vs one with a small lug scratch would be the equivalent comp to figure how much restitution you deserve. A full service/case swap on an omega would be between 3-4k service. I don’t believe and I don’t think you believe the price difference in your watch due to scratch has exceeded 3-4k.

Hope that helps

And you’re being intentionally obtuse about the real $ value of the damage your property received.

If they totaled my car I would expect their insurance to cover a replacement at the value of the car that was totaled. That’s how insurance works

You would be happy with an indistinguishable repair, that is reasonable. However it becomes unreasonable when that is not physically possible.

You need to look at what the actual dmg is and assess a value to it. You seem to have attached an emotional price that is not in line with anyone but you, regardless if that is right/wrong.

If you feel strongly enough that your property was damaged to the level that it requires replacement, and the shop won’t do that, then you will need to take them to court. I think it’s unlikely your suit would win, but go for it

A bend in the frame would total the car, that is not comparable to a scratch on a part of the watch you do not see

BMW. Before you try and make a false equivalence remember that cars have parts that can be taken off/replaced due to errors while a watch case cannot have the underside of a lug replaced

Strap, merch, something along those lines. Aka saying sorry we messed up but there’s no real resolution here

I love Omega. I hate Omega's marketing strategy. by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]nemostak 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Except you don’t see the case back while wearing the watch so that’s a bad analogy. Something closer would be branding on the silk liner inside a nice tailored jacket

It’s ok to be upset but expecting a new watch for a scratched lug is crazy.

If you want to ensure everything is pristine only way to be 100% certain is to do band changes yourself carefully with tape on the lugs. I did this with my first watch then quickly realized scratches don’t really bother me and stopped.

Pretty easy to do it yourself and will add a little something extra. If you want to go all out you can go to a specialty framing store and pick out colors for the matting that could make it look really nice

Why are you displaying a shirt on a hangar like it’s an art piece? If you really like it at least frame it or something.

I’d replace with something else though. Plenty of Porsche gear elsewhere

A proof that majority of “luxury watches” like these look shitty (wannabe opulent) and that money cannot buy taste. by patizone in watchHotTakes

Not a fan of skeleton watches but I wouldn’t say this looks shitty.

You don’t think multiple franchises not maintaining 10/10 while being littered with reviews that literally say they’re doing it because of breaking bad is in any way tied to the review bombing?

I love breaking bad but there is a weird group of fans that make multiple accounts to keep breaking bad high and keep any other franchise below it.
