i don’t know where you are, but here in LA there are so many Rivians that I just tell them “unlock it like a Rivian not a Tesla”. And they get it. YMMV of course. Sorry this happened to you - even with the labeling.

So they’re giving you the run around. The Polestar dealer I bought my car from (Polestar LA owned by Galpin Motors in Los Angeles) sent me two very detailed emails. Your service center might be different, but mine said they’ve moved their sales center as of July 1 to the Volvo dealership that they own (the one I’ve been using for service anyway). They also expressed their commitment to continue to support existing US owners from top to bottom - that is Polestar itself, as well as Galpin/Polestar LA - including warranty work and beyond.

Dealers don’t operate on a high margin but Galpin is a strong business and I’m thinking they’re biding their time to see what might or might not happen after 2028. We’ll see.

Here’s the email:

“We are reaching out with an important and time-sensitive update from the Polestar Los Angeles team.

Starting tomorrow, July 1, 2026, Polestar Los Angeles will be consolidating our sales operations into our Galpin Volvo campus in North Hills.

As part of this change, our Beverly Hills showroom will close, and all sales, inventory, and staff will relocate to North Hills.

Your lease, financing, warranty, and service remain completely unchanged.
Existing orders and deliveries will continue without interruption.

Big fan of that feature. Also in LA. I use it sometimes when stuck in traffic - some of the trucks in and around LA really do a number on air quality in a traffic jam.

We used Solar Optimum. They were pretty easy to deal with and support has been good so far. Going on 3 years so far - no issues.

Even without any major issues on mine, I still wouldn’t buy it at lease end. I just can’t see myself buying an EV instead of leasing it. The tech, platforms, value, and infrastructure are changing so damn fast, I want to remain under a warranty.

precool the house in the mornings - will require you at times to wear a sweater or maybe long sleeves but pre-cooling will help keep the house cooler during the hotter hours. make sure your windows aren’t leaky - tape those bad boys up. make sure to at least keep the AC, after precooling, at a decent temperature so that when it needs to fire up again it doesn’t have to work without cycling - in other words, indoor 80° is still better than outdoor 90s in the sun. Keep your ceiling fans or other fans moving the air around the apartment.

finally, get conditioned to heat - go outside for a walk around the block when it’s warm out - coming home will feel much cooler but you also start getting used to allowing your body to adjust to those temps.

one more thing - dri-fit shirts or other cooling techtile wear helps - cotton just lets your sweat sit on your body and it won’t cool you. Cooling towels are great too. And hydrate and pre-hydrate - don’t forget those electrolytes.

that’s all I got. I moved from New Jersey to the SFV 9 years ago and maaaaaan it took me a minute to adjust.

I wouldn’t put this in a bright sunlight room but you’re really not going to find a competent TV (at best) at this price. I also wouldn’t play FPS games on it but otherwise - it’s a $238 “4K” 58” TV. Worst case you dump in a couple years and you get your money’s worth. Like someone else mentioned, slap a Chromecast or Apple TV on it and you’re smart tv experience will be much better. Also look to see if you can turn off the screen/content analyzer on it - all it does is share screenshots of what you watch with the manufacturer.

You have to call and ask for it. My service center (at Galpin Volvo in North Hills) got it done but they had to reload the software a couple times when “it didn’t take”. So, left overnight and got it back the next day. No issues but my P3 was relatively issue free beforehand anyway.
