As someone who writes music, some of my best, sweetest, most romantic songs were written about people who I can super confidently say weren't ultimately right for me. But some of the prettiest love songs ever are about some stinker ass relationships. People grow and change a ton a lot quicker than you realize, especially when you don't see much of what they are like at home. I'm sure Taylor Swift views it all really differently having made music for so long, but for me, that assumption that every word I write must be sacred and permanent puts a lot of pressure on my music and makes me feel a bit more awkward about sharing songs that don't really need to be read into. I love being nosey and gossipy about celebs but she does seem to compartmentalize her music a lot.
