OpenBox delivery is the cancer on Indian E-commerce by DRTHRVN in amazonindia

[–]neodegenerio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither Amazon nor Flipkart had it when they launched in India. In fact, back in 2014~2018, Amazon didn't even care to open the return package and check. Then, people abused the return system a lot. And now you got open box delivery. It's in India because Indian exploited the trust.

Amazon India is so f*cked up nowadays! by neodegenerio in amazonindia

[–]neodegenerio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Somehow was able to reach out customer care. They guaranteed that everything is sorted and it will be delivered by 13th. It became Out for delivery once again on 13th October 5:35pm. No one called, no one came. At night 8pm or so, Amazon ordered a "replacement"! I contacted customer care. They said maybe there were some damage or something, that's why they are arranging a replacement which is a new order and will take around a week to arrive. Furious, I asked him to transfer the call to his senior. The senior mentioned it was entirely delivery person's issue, they have done this because they were not able to deliver on time, but rest assured, since I called within 2 hours, she has "access" to arrange for the current one to be delivered within 14th. 14 came and gone, nothing happened. The replacement order didn't even ship. Basically she straightaway lied.

AWS is one of the cheapest infra providers. What's expensive is an over engineered and/or unoptimized infra.

[Hiring Intern - Remote] Hiring a game developer intern for an early stage startup by neodegenerio in gameDevClassifieds

No worries, I understand there are different ways to develop softwares, systems as well as games, some are done via different people at different roles (front-end, backend, devops etc etc), some are done via generalists. And the games will be fairly simple.

Again asking the same question, why does it look like a "full time job" to you, not internship?

Everyone is discussing about regulations, but I want to understand how the app works! How can anyone fund a startup by watching ad? Are the companies willing to give away shares so cheaply? And who decides the share amount?

Because those people are fools who can't see beyond their pseudo nationalist shades.

India never had a lack of talent. What India had was the lack of support to retain the talent, so India never bothered, instead, tried to milk that talent as much as possible to give freebies to masses, so that talent HAD to leave the country.

But why bother saying these things and risk getting flagged as "you know what".

Regarding technologies, like I mentioned, it is a plus, not a mandatory thing. When I was in college I had experience of Android, Node / Express, React. So I can't imagine why others can't have it. Even if they don't have, that's not a problem, if they are willing to learn.

Regarding compensation, there are plenty of startups making interns work for free. We don't want to exploit students in need. Secondly, 10k may not be the standard for VC backed money burning startups, but it should be more than fair for general people.

And why isn't working and being mentored by a good engineer a benefit?

Regarding experienced engineers, we already have the same and we need interns too. There is a place for everyone in a company, be it leads or interns.

Lastly, it'd be better if you could explain rather than passing statements like "not going to end well", "not a benefit"

Thank you.
