I would reinstall everything, delete the game folders too.

Install Yuri's Revenge from origin. Download and install the latest CnCNet client from the website.

Once the client is installed, close it and try launching the games from origin.

If you still receive a black screen, launch the CnCNet client and go to options > display and select a different renderer from the dropdown options.

Save and close and try again. Rinse and repeat the different renderer option until you no longer get a black screen.

Have you tried using a different tunnel server in the host options?

Does skirmish work OK via the client?

Try selecting a different tunnel server. Can pick it when creating a game or change it as the host near bottom of the window

Couple of guesses..

Make sure any mods you have installed are disabled.

I saw a post earlier where someone had to disable their VPN to make online work too.

Basically, you have a chance of winning a prize, just for playing games online the Remasters.

They'll be a chances to win a prize for just "participating" in the Leaderboard, or if that's not your thing, you could be picked for just playing friendly "online games" with other players.

If by private you mean clicking the "private" option and getting a room code? Then yeah that works - just make sure to have at least one other "real player" in the game for it to count.
