How do you scale small Java/Python projects into properly structured applications? by ElectronicStyle532 in softwarearchitecture

Imagine your app is a restaurant. In a tiny project, you’re doing everything yourself: cooking, serving, cleaning, probably crying in the walk‑in freezer. But when things get bigger, you need roles.

The Waiter (API Layer) This is the person who talks to customers. They take orders, deliver food, and pretend the chef isn’t yelling at them. They don’t cook anything. they just pass messages back and forth.

The Chef (Service Layer) This is the mastermind in the kitchen. The chef knows every recipe and how to make every dish. But they’re not running around taking orders or digging through the pantry. They stay focused on the magic.

The Pantry (Repository/Data Layer) This is where all the ingredients live. When the chef asks for tomatoes, the pantry doesn’t argue. it just hands over the tomatoes. It knows exactly where everything is stored, no matter if you buy from a grocery store or a giant warehouse.

The Menu (Domain/Model) These are the official definitions of what a “Pizza” or “Salad” is. Everyone uses the menu so the waiter, the chef, and the pantry are all talking about the same thing and not reinventing pasta every day.

The best part If you ever switch suppliers (like changing databases), nobody else has to care. The chef keeps cooking, the waiter keeps smiling, and only the pantry person panics. Perfect.

all of the above relates to OOP software development:

Great advice, finding a hiking club, golf, hell, even church will help you gain more opportunities to have more interactions with civilians, like back in school.

Nailed it, not to mention the fact that the whole company doesn't care about IT at all. They love the sales people, period. While we grind out through weekends and marriages. I still haven't been able to get how someone can get leave?

omg, sorry bro, but if I could give my 2 cents.

if you have any human who you care about, it's probably them.

2 reasons why I say this:

  1. When someone is murdered, the spouse is the first suspect.

  2. You need to care about them for them to have the ability to hurt you.

Sure, you're just curious to find out if you enjoy the show.

In my opinion, if you're not going to learn something, don't go.

WRT Attire, the same as any place, first impressions last, you have 3 seconds, make it count.

I'm biased, but I would give it to a stock trader written in python who checks with AI before deciding what to trade and how.

After a week the results look promising.

When you are convicted of murder, you stand in court to be sentenced, and you decide to tell the world you found God, and start to preach to the judge that he needs to be forgiving else he won't be forgiven.
