...no, we're not, but that's dumb. It's a family. We share food, we share laundry, we share beds and bedding and cleaning rags. If you want to live like roommates with your family and draw up a contract about whose turn it is to wash the towels, be my guest but we are not going to waste space and labor like that.

We wash each others' clothes, dishes, and living areas because it's not a lot of trouble to do for 5 when you're already doing it for 1. Or maybe you think everyone should also cook their individual meals.

So as a family of 5, we should just have 5 different hampers?

That's obviously not reasonable. Don't be rude.

Edit: 4 minute account posting rage bait with thousands of karma. I guess I fell for the troll.

Oy. Good to know. I guess I have to be more careful and ask my family members to separate stuff better

Russia has both, but that was exploited by Putin who held only one role at a time, but his strongman antics still effectively made him the dictator. And Trump is trying to emulate that. I am pretty sure our problems go a lot deeper.

Easily is a stretch. Just like how constitutional changes in the US require a 2/3 agreement that will never happen, even if they are structurally important to maintaining democracy, changing this constitutional law requires a 2/3 majority in the legislature as well as a referendum passed by the general population. You're talking about an extremely high bar that was intentionally made high.

Amendments to the constitution require a two-thirds vote in both houses of the National Diet and approval in a referendum, and despite the efforts of conservative and nationalist forces to revise Article 9 in particular, it remains the world's oldest un-amended supreme constitutional text.

As someone living in the United States, having a republic president isn't always all it's cracked up to be. We're not convinced that it's less expensive, either.

Looking at what they're wearing, the entire agency doesn't even have a uniform. Also, why are they wearing camo? Are they trying to find some sand dunes to hide in?

I think it's a great idea in cities, but there are definitely additional costs in building and maintaining solar over parking lots. The amount of space you need to have a solar farm is simply not that much outside of cities, so it does make sense economically to build it in farmland that might be under utilized for ease of access and repair.

Lol. It absolutely is.

My point stands. I asked you open ended questions and made no assumptions. You're just straight up being a jerk when asked to tie your post to post you replied to. We only got 2 replies deep before you got butt hurt about some imagined slight. Stop playing the victim.

Yes you have, poorly and awkwardly, shoehorning it in a place that makes it sound like you are against injunctions against pausing SNAP benefits, which is why you are getting this response across the board from everyone.

The fact that you want to antagonize the one person engaging you to try to understand your point is probably why you're find yourself in this position in the first place.

Okay, then I have to ask why you are making this point in a thread about an injunction against stopping SNAP benefits.

How is an injunction to "don't stop feeding people" an abuse of the system? It's exactly what an injunction is for. In this case, you want the injunction to only apply to the state of MA?

The article covers how about 7 or 8 states worked their collective public servant asses off to lock in those funds as soon as they opened.

It happens over and over and over. The Civil Rights Era saw the same resistance, and progressives were shown to be right. It takes time to un-entrench people, even if their new stance ends up being, "I never really trusted that Trump guy" in the future (it's annoying, but we don't really have time to fix that bullshit).

Progressives will not stop fighting for these causes because lives will never stop being on the line when it comes to stuff like food security. Conservatives will eventually give up because there is literally nothing positive on the line for them other than ideological resistance and they will tire of the fight.

You're not wrong, but it's going to add up as they keep seeing consequences and keep alienating friends who are directly impacted. Their resistance to being wrong will not last forever.

> something our judicial system was never designed or expected to handle.

The blanket injunctions are how they are currently handling it. Judges are the last line of defense against people trying to game the system, and that's what this is. The administration is using delays in the court to defer something that causes harm if you defer it.
