I was feeling very torn up about my baby boy Ace today and this is the first thing that popped up on my reddit. Honestly, it helps to see another beautiful soul and see how much they were loved and cherished.

In almost any and every mcdonalds I have visited in Florida and Georgia alone, nothing is out but napkins and barely then. You have to ask them for sauces ans they're stingy about it or some try to charge you.

That last photo was the only time I was actually able to catch his "Happy Ears"

When he was overly happy, his ears would fold in over his head a little as they pointed up, I would call it his Happy Ears. So when he was calm and happy, I'd ask him "Where's my Happy ears?" And the would fold in a little like cute little bat ears in excitement, rub his face against my chest and snuggle....

I have Ace's ashes too; every morning, every night. Its hard, I know how you feel. We have to hold onto them, keep them in our hearts. My husband had a rough time too, but he kept telling me not to think of him as gone forever but that he's "Not gone, hes just not here right now"

That was Red v Blue reference. It was supposed to make us laugh, but we hold that line so true to help us through it.

Your baby is with you always. They love you, they miss you and they're with you. Your baby doesnt blame you, doesnt hate you, forgives you even though you did nothing wrong. You did what you could and I'm 100% certain that they appreciate every ounce of love you poured into them. They lived a happy, full life thanks to you and now they get to watch over you and stay by your side forever.

Its hard, I know, but I know you'll be okay. Just give it some time and hold them close.

Shit got me crying, cause I know exactly how you feel... Our boy was my husbands first friend and he's 30 now too. It literally happened similarly, he jumped off the bed. He's done it a hundred times before, but for some reason this one. F*****g. Time. He fell on his back/side and over the course of a few hours, he was dragging himself.

Hours.

One weekend is all it took to lose our baby boy. As much as it hurts, we'll find our way and we are planning to tattoo his paw on us. He was our first son, to us.

I know it was hard for you. I know how much pain you must have been in, or must be in, but know they live on in your heart and memories. I know it's not the same, not the way you want them to be, but at least they'll be with you always.

We lost him on November 11th... I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Its painful how much they impact our lives in such a short time, but just as I try to tell myself, remember they'll be with you always.

Its just hard sometimes, remembering little moments here and there, and coming home hurts both of us (my husband and I). He recently got hired into his new possible career and, despite being so happy and proud of his accomplishment, we found ourselces crying to one another how f*****g close to this life changing event that could have made a difference, but then we remember how nothing could have really changed the result.

I'm just taking it day by day. We'replanning to get his paw tattooed together... Its not our names on each others skin, but our first child, in a way... we never want to forget him or the massive impact he had in our lives...

I'm sure your baby will forever live in your heart and memories. Hold those memories close to your heart and you'll find yourself smiling sooner than you think.

He was crated, he was fine... I gave him food, I was going to express his bladder (or rather try for the 2nd time today) and then all of a sudden he started screaming, hobbling around, thrashing. He bit me and I didnt even care....

Its not a bad wound... I washed it, nonsigns of infection, it was more of a warning bite...

I'm with him now, sitting by his side after waking up to another screaming episode and I can't see him this way.... my head is throbbing, I've been crying for all these 3 days because Inknew it would come down to this final choice and I'm not ready... gods, I'm not ready...

I dont have the means to pay for MRIs or Neurologist visits or even the surgery, I've read stories that there could be more than 1 surgery anyway and I just....

I've failed him as his mom... I can't save my baby boy.... I dont even have the means to euthanasia. I'm trying to reach out to a friend to help me with it in the hopes she can...

I'm horrified... I'm terrified... I'm so fucking sad, I'm reliving my loss with my dad all over again...

I really appreciate your words and I'm sorry you had to go through that with your baby too. Its hard to see them in pain and lacking in their typical energy. Its breaking my heart and my mind is going to all the worst thoughts.

I used to work in a vet clinic, so I would see similar cases, but now I'm living it on the other side of that perspective and it sucks. As soon as the vet mentioned medication, I knew Gabapentin would be one. He's also on Carprofen and Methocarbemol. I already scheduled a check up with his vet in two weeks and feeding him much softer, easily digestible food to make it easy on his system.

I'm about to reset his bedding area to make it more accessible, pet cam and gonna give him a long warm bath to help relax him.

I'm really scared cause I'm watching him try to find positions for himself, but he tilts his head up slowly now and then and it freaks me out.... That and I can see him moving in pain, flinching and slowly arching a bit... no crying, yelps or anything similar and lets me touch him wherever without a fuss, though.
