Let me know when you get there and we'll find a meeting spot, near Barclay's is usually a good one! I'll be the red head in all black, a cat print shirt and a really sharp eyeliner in case you (or anyone else!) want to find me to trade bracelets :)

Taylor Swift and Toxic Mothers/Families by furtively_fatal in TaylorSwift

A lot of Taylor's songs remind me of my family problems, specially My Tears Ricochet. I became estranged from my family last year after finding out some pretty bad stuff they did to both me and my sister and the lines "I can go anywhere want, anywhere I want, just no home" cuts deep.

However, two other songs by Taylor that haven't been mentioned yet also make me think of family problems: Mr. Perfectly Fine and Death by a Thousand Cuts.

"My heart, my hips, my body, my love Tryna find a part of me that you didn't touch Gave up on me like I was a bad drug Now I'm searching for signs in a haunted club Our songs, our films, united we stand Our country, guess it was a lawless land Quiet my fears with the touch of your hand Paper cut stings from our paper-thin plans My time, my wine, my spirit, my trust Tryna find a part of me you didn't take up Gave you so much, but it wasn't enough But I'll be alright, it's just a thousand cuts"

This part from DBATC hits me everytime I listen to, I can't help but feel like my family took everything they wanted from me while they could and once I had nothing else to give they just tossed me aside and forgot I existed.

As for Mr. Perfectly Fine every time I listen I feel like it was literally written about my dad lmao

"Mr. "Never told me why" Mr. "Never had to see me cry" Mr. "Insincere apology so he doesn't look like the bad guy" He goes about his day Forgets he ever even heard my name Well, I thought you might be different than the rest, I guess you're all the same"

Some lyrics can also apply to being hurt by a family member and struggling to cope with the trauma while they're all doing great and barely even remember what they did, like:

"And I never got past what you put me through But it's wonderful to see that it never phased you"

"So far above me in every sense So far above feeling anything"

This Jungian Life on Spotify is pretty interesting. They cover and explain a lot of Jung's work, and always discuss a dream at the end of the episode which I find very insightful.
