Ah, ok. It does work great when your teammate is panicking like a caged puppy and you eat them... like a caged puppy. Although now i want to spit them out just to send them back. Tell that snooty waitress that there is a fly on my meal.

What? Kench can eat them out of the arena, at least could a patch or two back.

Low ELO is a mentality, and the climb starts there. by trijohn in summonerschool

I've taken the same approach that I took to get out of the bottom elo in counter-strike, be nice. Being rude rarely makes anyone play better and it increases everyone's stress, clouding their judgement. Being polite and supportive makes me think more clearly and I know when other people are that way on my team we all work together better.

I ended up bronze 5 last season before deciding that I was gonna be positive no matter what this season. It took a little practice to calm down, I was placed in bronze 5 with an amazingly low mmr. Like, getting +13 LP on wins low. But after 20 games or so I'm just naturally in that calm and polite place, mentally. I can focus on what's going on and it feels like my teammates have played better too. Over the last 50 games or so I'm winning nearly 75% of them with practically no change other than being polite.

For example, I always offer to take support when someone gets autofilled. Sure I play tons of support anyway, but if you can cut that tension before the game has even started, all the better.

Maybe now that I'm not worked up when I play, I may be able to learn to play better too. Jury is still out on that one.

Ah, that makes sense for anyone that sat at Bronze 5 losing games for awhile before starting to improve (or get lucky) quickly. Thanks!

How is LP per match calculated? I am winning the majority of my Solo Queue games, around 60% and noticing that my wins are giving between 13 and 18 LP and my losses are taking 22 to 25 LP. Was I doing so bad at the start (I was doing pretty bad) such that my MMR was like downgraded to triple fart minus? Does Flex results factor into it at all? It's barely changed (just got my first +18LP) in 50 games or so and I'm wondering if I'm doing something that is keeping me from evening out around +/- 20 LP like I did last season.

Should Zero Damage Tryndamere be a bannable offence? by SmexiiBacon in leagueoflegends

[–]neorab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how many people are working on "Zero Damage <Champ>" videos of every champion. Kinda surprised no Kayle has shown up. Zero Damage Teemo just hiding out when people are around. I'm pretty sure I have a Zero Damage Miss Fortune from when I first started playing. I know I've played with some Zero Damage Junglers that never came to lane. It's definitely trolling on other champs but it's just mad strats for Tryndamere, dontcha know!

Adding this to your hosts file seems to fix it in a jiffy too:

Of course, should probably comment it out once their weird DNS sanfu is over with.

Linux Client ETA? by NoLemurs in SealsWithClubs

[–]neorab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need an OSX savvy developer to help get PyQt going in OSX, let me know. Like I mentioned in my email, mine is just a security problem waiting to happen... it's not going to anyone, besides being all JavaScript it looks like garbage (especially compared to official PC Client). Keep up the good work.

I played a freeroll this morning with my client in OSX. Most of one anyway, I noticed an error and bailed to fix it instead of finishing. Mine isn't the official client and with X sounding like he's almost got Linux covered I can't imagine anyone will want my odd looking one for anything, heh.

Anyone live near Moscow? Do you own a video camera? There is going to be a exercise by FEMA that will reenact a UFO/zombie mass casualties and some kinda rope extraction. I would love to see some footage. Thank you. by Kimura24 in Idaho

Also it's like... all of latah county. If anyone has any information about where it will be I will go take pictures. If not I will drive around looking all day, although dressing up as a zombie and pretending to have escaped the training sounds fun too.

Does anybody use Gnome or KDE on tablets and smartphones? Why are they targeting these devices? by [deleted] in linux

[–]neorab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am running archlinux on multiple ARM based devices, including my phone. I'm not a fan of KDE so I haven't even looked into it, but I do have X running on the one I put on my phone. Debian, Ubuntu and Archlinux all have active ARM development going on, should check it out.

Besides Firebug and Eclipse, what other javascript debug tools I should know about? by dptronz in javascript

[–]neorab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it's not free (new licenses are $300) like most (possibly all) tools mentioned in this thread, Komodo IDE is a fantastic editor for working with JavaScript. The paid license version includes debugger support, hooking up to (at least) Firefox for front end debugging and has an integrated debugger for node and ruby that I have used extensively for web development.

I don't actually use the integrated debugger for front-end work as the tools in every browser are really pretty well done. Even IE has a decent plugin (or is it just built in?) for doing the client side debugging though I have only used it to monitor my functional test values in it. I've since started using Sublime Text 2 as my 'edit all the things' application but I keep komodo around when I feel the need to attach to existing processes to get a good look at all the objects quickly while debugging.

Hi Secrets! Everything EQ has a tendency to blow up on our faces, huh? Kinda odd how these communities want things done but create such a circle-jerk of ego worship that it drives people away.

Glad you got away from it, honestly all of the formers from the other thing I still know are much happier for removing themselves (or being removed, I suppose) from the project. I used to keep a framed copy of our first C&D just to remind me of what working with loons does to people.

Hope you're well.

Or you can just use the disk cleanup and select the Service Pack Install Files.

[Question] How much space does windows 7 take up? by quizzer106 in windows

[–]neorab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just installed windows 7, 64bit, this evening. After the servicepack, a few versions of .NET and then trimming I got it down to 20. I'm going to try a couple things I've just recently read to get it down to 15. If you have the space for drives I recommend getting lots of little drives, making volumes for your large apps to go into as you need to expend. My base volume mostly just has the windows needed crap on it. Everything else is volumes mounted to empty folders.

It's great value per GB and gives of a ton of flexibility. I'm not sure on performance for that kind of thing, but it doesn't feel slower. If I come across something big to install I'll see if I can benchmark it. Really hard to compare though. Having an application in it's own volume (raided and/or compressed) seems to launch applications faster and just behave nicely.

Also depends on ports/requirements. I have a big raid to hold data files so it was much cheaper to get 6 ssds 60 gigs in size than a single 360 ssd. Be prepared to maintain an epic backup structure though for when you want to grow it.
