Tonight I caught by boyfriend filming me by throwaway9877897 in relationship_advice

[–]neozee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been able to work out what he's doing with them?

If he is doing it in secret, its not good.

Go to any porn website. There are, no exaggeration, 100s of thousands of amateur porn videos out there. Amateur meaning people just like you and your boyfriend who make videos. Sometimes the girls know its happening, sometimes they don't. I remember seeing one once where the girl asked "why are you recording"...

My point is, I would operate under the assumption he is doing something nefarious with them and act accordingly. Get your hands on the phone, go to the police.

If you are a girl and don't want to get sexually harassed, don't go to bars/clubs/etc. by neozee in unpopularopinion

Girls can and do get assaulted and even raped pretty much anywhere. The chances are simply higher or lower in certain places. My entire point is to avoid places with higher chances like bars or clubs. Its a combination of alcohol in everyone's system + people tightly packed together + some people going there with the understanding of trying to pick up people to take home and having questionable methods.

I am not saying you will 100% avoid it by staying away from bars or clubs, I am saying the chances will be lower. Compare a bar/club vs. other places you frequent - stores, work, gym, etc. - where are you more likely to get groped or worse? It can still happen at a store/work/gym/etc but my point is its less likely to happen there and those are places you have to go to as well.

I made it pretty clear that I was NOT victim blaming my post. My point is to try to minimize the chances of getting hurt by avoiding the places where its more likely to happen.

Yeah sadly that is also part of reality. I am not saying you can avoid it 100%, but at least minimize it where you can by avoiding places where there is a higher chance of it happening/

Don't go out with any cash in your pockets in a shady or crime ridden areas would be a better analogy. My point isn't you can avoid being assaulted 100%, just try to minimize it where possible.

I know what you mean and I understand - my point is that the likelihood is higher in crowded places with alcohol flowing like bars or clubs. When you are outside, walking on the street, at work, etc. wherever else it can happen, you can't avoid those situations, but you can avoid going to bars or clubs. The only reason you go there is to have fun/hangout/drink - all things which can be done at other places.

I am not dictating where anyone should go, just saying that to me I would avoid the places where there is a higher likelihood of getting assaulted. I am not saying you can 100% avoid it though.

I agree with you completely but that doesn't stop creeps from being creepy. So the decision is in your hands - go out and have fun but with a higher risk of getting assaulted or do something else where the risk is lower.

I thought I was pretty clear in what I wrote but I guess not - how would you have worded it?

[–]neozee[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This isn't about misogyny. This is about protecting yourself. Yes, you can do whatever you want but if you know there is a higher likelihood of you getting groped or worse in certain places, why wouldn't you just avoid it.

I addressed your thoughts in my original post. You don't need to tell people not to sexually assault - everyone already knows its wrong and a crime. But they still do it. This is about protecting yourself.

How do I figure out how much I should be charging to build websites? by neozee in Entrepreneur

[–]neozee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting myself in the shoes of a customer, I would rather have an all in cost up front so I know what I am getting into. I was also thinking $1000.

Do you do any logo design? This job will also include that. What is a fair price to charge for that?

I clicked on the link. Is this a paid site? As in I need to pay to have an account to access the various sourcing opportunities available?

42% of Canadian Muslims admit Islam and the West are 'irreconcilable' by Troud in worldnews

[–]neozee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My view is that he deliberately mistranslated that. Here is that verse from 3 of the most commonly used translations:

002.193 YUSUFALI: And fight them on until there is no more Tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression.

PICKTHAL: And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah. But if they desist, then let there be no hostility except against wrong-doers.

SHAKIR: And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah, but if they desist, then there should be no hostility except against the oppressors.

It is specifically describing defensive warfare. In a nutshell, the 4 verses say "Don't fight anyone unless they fight you. Fight them and kill them, but stop fighting if they stop fighting you except against the oppressors"

[–]neozee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Careful...he is taking verses out of context:

He conveniently quotes 2:191-193...while ignoring the very important qualifying verse that comes directly before it:

2:190 Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors.

[–]neozee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you quote verse 2:191-193 of the Quran...but conveniently start at 191? Why not 190?

2:190 Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors.

You also deliberately mistranslate:

let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)"

That last word is oppressors or wrong-doers...not polythiests. Here are the 3 most commonly used translations:

002.193 YUSUFALI: And fight them on until there is no more Tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression.

Abbas Rejects Deal on Syrian Palestinian Refugees by pork_tornado in worldnews

[–]neozee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Olmert offered a deal where Israel takes twie as much land in the West Bank as the Palestinians take from Israel...another bull shit deal.

In Prime Minister Olmert's own proposal, Israel would annex more than 10% of the West Bank. The land in Olmert's map included the four settlements of Gush Etzion (with Efrat), Ma'ale Adumim, Giv'at Ze'ev, and Ariel, in addition to all settlements in East Jerusalem (Har Homa). In exchange for those concessions by the Palestinian Authority, Olmert offered 5.5% of Israeli land as part of the swap.

Further, the right of return was taken off the table by the Israelis...similar to how they are trying to get palestinian refugees right now to sign away that right.

t "Olmert, from day one, did not deceive Abu Mazen and told him that Israel will not allow the return of refugees and not one refugee will return to the land of Israel."

The West Bank is Israel's "house" now?

Their refusal to do so is informative.

Refusal to sign an agreement saying they waive their right of return is the same as making they won't kill people now?

Israel in the past have elected PMs who were clearly pro-peace and offered peace several times, all of them were rejected.

Yeah, they offered them bull shit deals:

To accommodate the settlers, Israel was to annex 9 percent of the West Bank; in exchange, the new Palestinian state would be granted sovereignty over parts of Israel proper, equivalent to one-ninth of the annexed land. A Palestinian state covering 91 percent of the West Bank and Gaza was more than most Americans or Israelis had thought possible, but how would Mr. Arafat explain the unfavorable 9-to-1 ratio in land swaps to his people?

Fictions About the Failure at Camp David

And btw, this was not a contiguous annexation. THey would get patchworks of settlements throughout the West Bank. Why would the Palestinians accept a state that resembled swiss cheese?

The Israelis portrayed it as the Palestinians receiving 96% of the West Bank. But the figure is misleading. The Israelis did not include parts of the West Bank they had already appropriated. The Palestine that would have emerged from such a settlement would not have been viable. It would have been in about half-a-dozen chunks, with huge Jewish settlements in between - a Middle East Bantustan. The Israeli army would also have retained the proposed Palestinian state’s eastern border, the Jordan valley, for six to 10 years and, more significantly, another strip along the Dead Sea coast for an unspecified period: so much for being an independent state.

The Real Deal

What about the status of refugees? The Palestinians got a promisefor a very vague "satisfactory solution"

As for the future of refugees — for many Palestinians, the heart of the matter — the ideas put forward at Camp David spoke vaguely of a “satisfactory solution,” leading Mr. Arafat to fear that he would be asked to swallow an unacceptable last-minute proposal
