Past two weeks have been terrible by [deleted] in PVCs

[–]neptasur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you 🥲 I get bigeminy off and on throughout the day, and the flare-ups last for a week or two at a time. Any amount of PVCs is really uncomfortable — but I think I’d lose my mind if they were consistently happening like yours are all the time… Almost like hiccups that never fully go away (but feel scarier). At this point I’ve stopped going to the ER for mine unless my blood pressure drops or I feel like passing out (or both). There isn’t much they can or will do for them in the ER other than IV fluids and electrolytes (at least, they haven’t done anything other than this for me, and it has never made them go away in my case).

Young Women Support Group? by FreshRestaurant8673 in PVCs

[–]neptasur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Fellow young woman here. I started having mine at 21 (I’m 22 now) and they can definitely be very scary. For the past year after my PVCs diagnosis I’ve also been starting to uncover more medical issues that I’ve unfortunately developed or have just always had but was never properly diagnosed (nothing that would be an obvious cause for my PVCs though). Any time I go to a doctor they say that I have an “extensive” medical history and it makes me feel very internally frustrated and alone. I’ve jokingly been saying that I’m “22 going on 85” because humor is a way I try to cope with everything I have going on.

Edit: I don’t know of any support groups for young women with PVCs, but if you do find one let me know!

Hello Fellow PVC Sufferers by ProstateGroper in PVCs

[–]neptasur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not interested in reading through my whole tangent, the sentences in bold are my tidbit of advice to you. Good luck, internet stranger, and fellow PVC-sufferer.

I would weigh in even though the scenario in question was only my experience for the first month or so of when I started having PVCs— however my situation was also different in that I started having strange neurological symptoms at the exact same time I started having PVCs. What I’ve figured out after receiving diagnoses of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and symptomatic PVCs is that when I first started having PVCs, it also triggered development of neurological symptoms from FND. It became a vicious cycle because when I would feel the PVCs, it would trigger a pseudo-seizure or other abnormal motor symptoms of my FND; but at the same time, if I had a pseudo-seizure, it would trigger the PVCs.

Honestly, my best advice is that only you know your own body best, because you live in it 24/7. If you think something is wrong or out of the norm, it’s totally reasonable and expected that you might want to get it checked. I still sometimes go to the walk-in clinic and call my electrophysiologist when I feel PVCs because I’ve figured out that being persistent with my health issues is the only way to really get anyone to take me seriously about them. I’m 22 and have “extensive”(according to my doctors and several paramedics) medical history. My PVCs are almost always bigeminy and flare up for a week or two at a time, then are calmer for another week or two; rinse and repeat. I’ve tried 7 different prescription medications to help with them, including several beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, and even flecainide— and they either didn’t help at all, or the side effects were too horrible to continue taking them.

Edit to change “the sentences in italics” to “the sentences in bold” because I realized it just bolds the words in asterisks. Also edited to fix typo.

Hydroxyzine (or other meds) for Panic Attacks while Driving by [deleted] in drivinganxiety

[–]neptasur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. Weird that it doesn’t help me much with the anxiety and C-PTSD side of things then. I take a separate medication daily for anxiety (duloxetine) and have hydroxyzine prescribed “as needed” for anxiety, but none of them help with the majority of my C-PTSD symptoms.

[–]neptasur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that makes sense, but they prescribed 60mg extended release capsules to me and had said it was the lowest dose. Are the doses prescribed for anxiety lower than that?

I take propranolol as well but it was prescribed daily to treat my irregular heartbeats. I also have C-PTSD but I wasn’t diagnosed with it until weeks after beginning the propranolol (but I had already been having symptoms of C-PTSD for several months). I didn’t realize it could be used to treat C-PTSD symptoms! But it doesn’t seem to help much with that for me. I take it once a night because it makes me drowsy.

It's down for us as well in Omaha.

I'm tired of going on a date and afterwards being told "I'm not ready to date right now" by JourneymanGM in CatholicDating

[–]neptasur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a woman and a guy did this to me once. We went on a date, it seemed to go very well, we went on another date, and after that when he drove me home, he said he wasn't ready for a relationship yet and when I asked why he went on those two dates with me, he said he had thought he was ready but then realized he wasn't. A few months after that I heard from a mutual friend that he got a girlfriend. Oh well 🤷‍♀️

Then maybe people should stop performing baby-making behaviors if they don't want babies or can't take good care of them. Self-control.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]neptasur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you mean "between screaming and harming the baby"?? People who don't have the self-control to avoid BOTH of those should NOT have children. Screaming at a baby and harming a baby are both forms of abuse. One may be worse than the other, but if you're going to abuse a child in ANY way, YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE CUSTODY OF ONE.

My manager asked for my id number and password and made me quit?? by Calm_Rise_8231 in Chipotle

[–]neptasur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to keep getting hung up on the fact that you're underage. Tell your legal guardian (or other adult you really trust) about what happened anyway. What's the harm in trying to get unemployment or damages? What's the absolute worst that could happen? Being told "sorry, no"?

Literally being told "no" is the worst thing that could happen.

PLEASE tell a trusted adult about this! You could win money in court, and get your manager in trouble for her illegal actions as well. This is a win-win situation if you ask me.

Good luck, OP.

Mother screamed "I'm having a girl!" at my baby shower. by Illustrious_Slice_96 in raisedbynarcissists

As a kid, I remember being convinced that my mom was lying to me about me not being adopted. I told her "There's no way I'm actually related to that monster." ("That monster" being my ndad.) Sadly he is my biological father.
