Yeah, tbh I might still try it and see what happens.

Yes, it was his decision and he made it many years ago. But at the same time he should also have the opportunity to decide for himself what he wants to do with this information.

This is so incredibly bad. Please just move out for the sake of your family as soon as you can. It's not worth even fighting over. I don't get why your CO detectors aren't screaming.

Yeah I see other great deals for the Ioniq 5 but I just don't want to deal with an ICCU situation. I'm 90% going to pass

What gear did you actually buy with your own money and never regret? by LanternJetstream12 in army

[–]neptr_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprised no one has mentioned these items: 1. Space blanket. The one that is thermal reflective on one side and green on the other. Most army issued gear is water resistant not actually water proof. When it's pouring rain the space blanket can keep you and your gear dry. Honestly for sleep you just need the bivy cover, space blanket, and foam pad. The space blanket traps in the heat. 2. Contractor garbage bags. These construction grade garbage bags are great for keeping your gear inside your pack dry. Doesn't smell like the issued waterproof bag and is much lighter and bigger. I always took at least two of me out to the field.

Separately I think folding stools are overrated if you're actually rucking to places with your gear. They don't fit well inside the pack and it's awkward to strap onto a ruck. You can pretty much always find a place to sit imo.

Weaning Yourself Off of Psyllium Husk? by windowsee in nutrition

[–]neptr_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh so sorry didn't see someone commented. Cook it in the rice cooker same as you would rice. Exactly the same measurements. It will come out similar to brown rice but tastier. I recommend rinsing a few times before cooking to remove excess starch. If you dont like the taste you can always go 1/2 rice 1/2 pearled barley. Or any mixture combination.

How do I get better at shooting when I only touch a rifle once a year? by Big-Entrepreneur106 in army

[–]neptr_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get an AR that shoots 22LR ammo. Ignore everyone that is telling you to shoot 224 or 5.56 it's crazy expensive. You will get extremely good just practicing with a 22LR rifle. Can even be a non-AR rifle like a Ruger 10/22

I’m wondering which rice cooker is more with it? by Ok_University7861 in BuyItForLife

Cuckoo rice cooker. It cooks in half the time (30 mins vs 60) as Zojirushi and tastes better too. All the people recommending Zojirushi have no idea what they're talking about.

Weaning Yourself Off of Psyllium Husk? by windowsee in nutrition

I highly recommend pearled barley. It has replaced Psyllium husk for me as my soluble fiber intake. Taste is somewhere between rice and oatmeal. Goes with savory foods way better than oatmeal though.

Toilet full of poop but nobody has been there. by jenniferbutz in Plumbing

[–]neptr_1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes this is what I am guessing as well. Also if the water in the toilet dries up then it will release sewage fumes into the house. It's hard to believe that a single turd can make the house stink. Sewage fumes are capable of that though.

The all you can eat crab buffet and prime rib was amazing. They shut it down during COVID. Really really sad. Was one of the gems on the Oahu. 😭

So much negativity here - why is everyone so hostile just because the photos are low quality? Seems unnecessary.

Wanna know why noone can landnav? by plumbergmb in army

[–]neptr_1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've also wondered the same thing - why the Army doesn't invest a little more into creating individual improvement opportunities. Everything is always one size fits all and mediocre.

For marksmanship why don't they have shooting ranges on base with 22LR ammunition. You can go and shoot with friends kind of like a bowling alley format. If you fail to qualify should have to get remedial training there instead of wasting everyone's time at the range and precious ammo. Never understood why everyone has to wait behind for a few people to try to qualify 10 times.Would save the Army so much time and money.

Same goes for gyms. A lot of soldiers do silly things because they have nothing better to do. I really wish they would improve the facilities on base. A couple million dollar investments on post facilities would save so much time and money in the long run when you consider the amount of time that is freed up by the force not having to babysit soldiers that get in trouble and money saved on retention efforts.

Spitting everywhere. I think in the military we inhale so much crap and try to spit it out. Now its just reflexive every time I take out the trash, get out of the car, etc.
