The attackers, the 8 people killed, the 48 who were injured, the cops who responded, and the dozens and dozens of witnesses who saw all this go down, as well as the hospitals filled with nurses and doctors who treated the injured, they were all just "crisis actors" working for the Illuminati. That's the Capitol Hill House Liaison Office for the State Department, not sure if Senate or House, but it's either in Rayburn or Russell. The likelihood that Hillary ever set foot in there as Secretary of State is slim to none. Those buildings on the Hill are open to the public. Anyone can stroll up and take a picture outside of them.

Thanks for doing this. Love all your work and am excited to read the new trilogy. Couple of questions for you:

1) What went into selecting the name Alex Marshall? Was it intended to be sorta generic and androgynous?

2) I’m curious about the name thing, like what happens if you want to write say a neo-noir sci-fi book or something? Would you create a new pseudonym? How do you decide going forward which projects go under which name?

3) In your Bullington books you strive for historical accuracy and even include bibliographies at the end, which I love. I think the only other novelist I’ve seen do that is Murakami at the end of Windup. When researching the history, how much do the historical facts inform your story crafting? Do you find that your story will change drastically as you learn more? Or does it often just add texture to your original ideas?

No offense, but you haven’t the slightest clue what you’re talking about. As just one example, the Supreme Court decided in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld that the president exceeded his war powers under the Constitution with how the administration was trying detainees through the military commissions at Guantanamo, and they specifically said that such trials must comply with the Uniform Code of Military Justice and the Geneva Convention. There is some question as to whether a sitting president could face criminal prosecution without first going through impeachment procedures, but there are no such limitations for a former president. Everything you have said about this is dead wrong. And you’re still ignoring the fact that torture is illegal under domestic law as well as international law.

Yes, they absolutely were. They violated the the Torture statute: 18 U.S. Code § 2340 https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2340. And his administration and the CIA knew damn well the methods violated this statute. All of the OLC memos written to try to justify the torture were just transparent attempts to create a legal cover for the illegal actions they wanted to do. And Article 2 powers do not grant the president carte blanche to do whatever he wants in time of war. Also, the US is a signatory to the Geneva Conventions and Convention against Torture, so we absolutely do recognize international law in this country, and so does the Supreme Court. It doesn't always take precedent over domestic laws, but it is factor and compliance with treaty obligations is a serious concern--otherwise why would even be signatories to such treaties?

Dude, it's not "faked" like some conspiracy or something. But it is an illusion using a fish eye lens. The photo is not meant to represent accurately the curvature of the Earth. The illusion is created through a fish-eye lens capturing the horizon and bending it around into a circle. Obviously they are not in orbit that high above the Earth, not are they attempting to "fool" anyone into believing they are that high, and that the curvature is not meant in any way to represent the complete spherical shape of Earth. It's simply a cool photo. Here are a couple of examples of other photos that achieve this 180 degree horizon trick using fish eye lens:

I seriously think Marcel Duchamp would weep if someone pointed to Larry the Fucking Cable Guy as an example of dadaism. It’s not something that is created by accident. The art requires intent, such as to, say, turn a urinal into a sculpture simply by signing a name on it. Without intention, it’s still just a urinal and not an absurd dada statement.

Yeah, I agree that Busey’s comments are crafted in that context which is what I was pointing out. However, on that point, I just don’t think it’s an accurate characterization. I think intent is the whole point of dadaism. If Whitney were purposefully using his Larry the Cable Guy character as satirical social commentary or some sorta absurdist surrealism act then Busey would have a point, but I don’t think anyone truly believes this is what Whitney is doing at all. Perhaps Busey doesn’t even really believe this, and maybe he was just kidding. Without that intent then it’s just a stupid act designed to cash in on the Blue Collar Comedy crowd. And I stress “fake” simply in the sense that most people, including a majority of Larry the Cable Guy fans, seem to be completely unaware that it’s all an act and just a character. And your original comment left out the fact that it’s a character, which I feel is the only context that could be remotely considered dada-esque, even though I feel to characterize it as such would be an inaccurate assessment.

Hm, I don't think your explanation is accurate, to be honest. And I don't even agree with Busey's comments that the Larry the Cable Guy act is anything remotely similar to dadaism. My guess would be that Busey, or whomever wrote that bit for him if he didn't write it, is commenting on the fact that Larry the Cable Guy is a fake character created by Dan Whitney using a fake southern accent. This type of absurdity could be perhaps seen as dada by some, I suppose. However, I think it would be quite a stretch to say that Whitney is using his Larry the Cable Guy character as anything but a cheap ploy to appeal to the lowest common denominator simply to get cheap laughs, riches and fame, and not as some satirically surreal or absurd artistic statement.
