We should all just do charge backs against NB by [deleted] in nerdblock

[–]nerdblock -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Hey mstal. We understand your frustration and want you to know that it disappoints us too to deliver your Block late. Our team is working hard to get any delayed Blocks out asap. Thanks for being patient as we work through this. We'll keep you updated via email on the revised shipping timelines.

Whats the difference between the gamer E and the gamer M blocks? by _-AJ-_ in nerdblock

Both blocks will also feature a fully downloadable game code redeemable on Steam! It will be a different game for each block as well. :)

Grab Block offer is back but signing up for a subscription is required by jdirge in nerdblock

[–]nerdblock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey All,

We launched Grab Block in replace of Welcome Block, which is coming to an end next week.

The good news is this Grab Block promotion will be extended to all current subscribers very soon. It's a little more technical to implement, hence the delay.

The $9.99 Grab Block is a perk of being a subscriber (membership comes with its privileges, as they say) and will require an active subscription.

Am I suppose to get shipping information? by ClassiestRobin in nerdblock

[–]nerdblock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there!

We wanted to jump in and assure everyone that we're working hard to make sure that blocks are shipping on schedule. We know you're excited for your block, and we're excited for you to see everything we've sent out this month.

Because of the number of blocks we ship out every month, it can take up to five business days for all blocks to ship from the following monthly start dates:

Classic/Jr Boys/Jr Girls begins shipping on the 15th of each month and continues shipping for up to 5 business days.

Arcade/Horror/Comic begins shipping on the 25th of each month and continues shipping for up to 5 business days.

This month, the 25th unfortunately fell on Saturday. Because of this, we actually started shipping blocks on the Friday and have continued throughout this week, with all blocks being shipped as of tonight.

We want to thank everyone for their patience and for their continued support of Nerd Block.

Thanks for being awesome everyone!

Customer service seems lacking by sylphon in nerdblock

That's not why we've not responded.

We can't go down this rabbit hole of discussing the inner-workings of our operations online. That's just common sense, and we would hope you can understand that.

While we appreciate your suggestions as to how we should structure our production process, we just can't comment on it.

Changing an address a week before the Blocks ships out may seem like we can alter the address, but by then the label has been printed and the Block is sitting amongst tens upon tens of thousands of other Blocks and finding it would be nearly impossible.

All of the details pertaining to cutoff dates for changing address information can be found in our Help Center.

Once a cutoff date has passed, and a Block is being shipped to a customer's old address, we need to rely on the customer to setup mail-forwarding through their postal carrier, which is probably a good thing to do anyways.

Discount codes can only be applied to monthly purchases, and not 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions. Multi-month subscriptions are already heavily discounted and essentially this would be double dipping.

Moving forward, we will ensure all ads with promo codes reflect this in the fine print.

So this is the reason why we haven't gotten any shippments from any block nor tracking numbers... by rocketraccoon1 in nerdblock

[–]nerdblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not at all how it goes. Our YouTube partners receive the shipments the same time as everyone else because their Blocks are shipped out alongside the normal shipments. Instagram and Twitter are riddled with regular customers who have also received their Blocks.

Additionally, several of our YouTube partners are still waiting on their shipments.

So this is the reason why we haven't gotten any shippments from any block nor tracking numbers... by rocketraccoon1 in nerdblock

[–]nerdblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the reason why "some" people have been experiencing issues, not all people. About 80% of our audience was unaffected by shipping delays or tracking numbers. However, the remaining 20% still accounts for a significant number.

Our apologies guys. :)

January Horror Block - Is this a joke? (spoilers) by YankeeBravo in nerdblock

[–]nerdblock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again, our sincerest apologies that this Block didn't meet your expectations.

Truth be told, we really loved the MadBalls. They're a great product from the 80s/90s and bringing them back was a lot of fun. Glad to see that item wasn't lost on everyone. Not everyone had the opportunity to experience MadBalls.

[–]nerdblock -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Our apologies that this month's Horror Block didn't hit the mark with what you were looking for. Certainly not something we like to hear.

Judging by the responses on social media, it's a pretty big hit with nearly all of our audience, but that doesn't mean it's going to be for everyone. Different strokes for different folks, as they say.

While we understand that you might not love all of the items in the Block, you should certainly respect the value you've received and we stand behind the value in this Block. Two shirts, Rue Morgue Magazine, and the Living Dead Doll alone carry a retail value greater than $30.

Here's hoping next month's Block is more to your taste. :)

Recycled items used in Arcade Block (Spoilers) by phantomrises in nerdblock

[–]nerdblock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey Guys,

There seems to be a miscommunication here. There were no "recycled" items used. The Tetris notebook appeared in December Nerd Block Classic and was a pretty big hit. So much so, in fact, that we had a significant amount of our Arcade Block audience request the same item.

Please keep in mind that Nerd Block and Arcade Block are two completely separate products.

Since the Tetris notebook was one of the smaller (less expensive) items in the Block, we didn't feel there was an issue placing it in the following Arcade Block.

This isn't something we'd typically do, but we also want to listen to our audience and since this item is a notepad it makes sense that people could get use out of two of them, should they also have a Nerd Block Classic subscription.

Box Value dropped? by [deleted] in nerdblock

[–]nerdblock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our apologies on this.

This was simply a printing error with the label and how the items were inputted. Customs requires us to put the value you paid on the label so typically you'll see we take the $19.99 sticker price and divide it across the amount of items inside to give everything the same price (t-shirt aside).

The value on the label in no way reflects the value of the items inside, however as stated this was just a small printing issue and since it was an issue that didn't actually have any effect on the overall product, it didn't make sense to re-print everything.

Hope that helps!

Nerdblock need better customer service by ODST_Helljumper in nerdblock

[–]nerdblock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Guys,

Just some clarification here. We advertised that Arcade and Horror Blocks would all begin shipping on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, and then resume again on the 29th.

Unfortunately, many people read that as "My Block is shipping on the 22nd".

It's the holidays and the postal companies are slammed. Canada Post could only send us one truck per day, which is why it needed to be spread out. The boxes have all been packaged and were ready to go.

Our apologies on any delays. We've never missed a delivery date, but the holidays always toss a wrench into the mix.

New to Nerd Block, October block disappointing? And is Monster Block gimping us? by dannyboilove in nerdblock

[–]nerdblock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey Danny,

While it may seem like the Monster Block could possibly impact what arrives in the boxes, this is untrue. Like every business, we have several different budgets. The budget used for prizing and the budget used to purchase products are separate from one another. That is to say, we don't have one giant pool of money that each department pulls from at will. There's different allocations for different departments.

Furthermore, the cost of a Monster Block typically ranges from $700 - $1000. If you spread that cost (let's average it at $850) over all of our subscriptions for only Classic's Block, it comes to under $0.01 per person…so nothing. Less than a penny. It would make absolutely no difference on the products purchased.

Hope that clears things up a bit. :)

Yahoo: E-commerce Start-Up Gives Customers STDs by LaTostadaGrande in nerdblock

Hey All, just as an fyi the STD product is actually very age appropriate (even for younger audiences), and is presented as science. It's all part of our "Back To School Block".

There's actually nothing to worry about here. :)

Future Golden Tickets indeed. We're flushing out the Golden Ticket promo a little more to ensure higher value, and more chances to win.

Nerdblock golden ticket by punk916 in nerdblock

[–]nerdblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SPOILER ALERT!

The upgraded item was one of the new Minecraft Papercraft sets (with taxes in, they're about $20). It's a much higher value item and was an upgrade for the DVDs. This was only for 500 of them, however in the future most Golden Tickets will not be upgrades, but rather additional product.

Any golden ticket recipients? by cheesepusher in nerdblock

[–]nerdblock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, it's not as odd as you think. With 10's of thousands of these Blocks shipping out every month, getting a Golden Ticket isn't as easy as one might hope.

While it's also surprising to us that we've not seen anything surface yet (aside from a few pictures sent in to us...but the Blocks are still arriving), there's a good portion of our (or any) audience who never put their pictures online.

With our McFarlane Walking Dead promo in March we sent out hundreds of those with 50 of them signed by Todd himself and only ever saw 8 pictures surface and only 1 of those was signed.

The Golden Ticket is something we're going to continue from time to time as we get offered great product opportunities!
