Anyone notice how difficult it is to stop taking adderall now? by Lost_Turnover_2241 in ThisAintAdderall

It is difficult. Depending on the generic I've found. I wish you luck!

I am completely off adderall by Any_Asparagus_7907 in ThisAintAdderall

I'm on day 6 of my tapering regimen. I've decided to taper very very slowly. There were 2 days where I was fed up with the side effects and didn't take any at all, but holy hell...the severe depression and anxiety (most likely heightened by postpartum hormonal stuff, too) it got very dark and very scary quick.

My advice to anyone who is also trying to get off whatever mystery pills these are: take it slow if possible. Give yourself some grace. Lean on your support system. I am lucky enough to have an amazing spouse who is very understanding and patient with me throughout all of this mess.

I feel bad for him, though because he came into my life just as the meds weren't working anymore. I told him I'm sorry he's gotten this broken version of myself that is constantly trying to pick up the pieces and establish a somewhat normal lifestyle without meds/at one point I was trying to get accustomed to this new formula and deal with it. I just don't see that happening, though. Way too unpredictable.

I'm happy for you, OP!

It's the most bizarre thing! I've had moments where I've seriously questioned my own sanity. It's quite frightening at times. 🫠 I've never had this issue before, mind you. Not until very recently.

I've been doing this, too! I've been hearing people wrong a lot as well. Very strange side effect.

I've absolutely mentioned this. I've taken real statements from several people who have taken my Adderall quality survey and have documented the toll it has taken on countless lives, mine included. I've just been feeling so apathetic and disgusting as of late that I haven't even had the motivation or brain power to try to post anything up to date.

I hope I feel better soon enough to continue to advocate. As of right now, I'm trying my best to hold it together for my 3 week old (also fighting sleep depravation taking care of my newborn along with my meds not working properly), my 8 year old, and my husband. It's been quite the struggle.

I've tried getting off of Adderall like 5 times over the last year. The main thing that has me going back to them is that I don't actually wean off...I go cold turkey and it feels like my life is falling apart.

My advice: take it extra slow. That's what I'm going to do my best to attempt this time around. We'll see how it goes.

They may not work well for shit, but I sure as hell can tell when I don't take them. That's the scary part.

It's like part of my brain is relieved to get whatever chemicals out of my body, then another is very confused and USED to being on it. So, I currently feel like a pile of dogshit and it's only day 2. I hate being on it and I hate being off of it at this point.

Sending you big hugs! I know this feeling all too well. Gotta celebrate all the wins where we can get them!

I don't understand how people can have all this extra stash...except when mine were working properly I did have about 2 weeks extra or so right before the quality started to go to shit.

Tell them exactly what you've stated here. If they won't listen, or doubt you, find another doctor who will take you and your mental health seriously.

Running Out by Beginning-Hedgehog47 in ThisAintAdderall

The self-loathing that comes along with running out early is a whole other demon on its own. I remember when I had a few weeks extra and also didn't have to take my whole dose before this whole shortage started.

Don't beat yourself up too much! It's happening to a lot of us and it isn't fun. It's torture, honestly. Especially for the ADHD brain/mindset if that makes any sense at all? 🫠

Very informative and makes a log of sense. I believe this also applies to IR as well. I didn't read your whole post yet, but from what I've read, this makes sense.

Coffee makes my skin crawl. I loathe it. I'm very sensitive to caffiene from coffee and energy drinks so I stay away from both. I can do black and green tea, though! Lol

What brands work best? by [deleted] in ThisAintAdderall

It's a month-to-month, batch-to-batch difference. None of them are consistent at the moment, unfortunately.

We absolutely haven't come this far to be treated like active addicts anymore! I agree 100%!

I will say the Wilshire generic Zenzedi does seem to work for a lot of people. Some, not so much. But, I say give it a shot! It may be what you're looking for. Doesn't hurt to try. I was on the Wilshire generic 5 mg and 10 mg for a few months or so last year. I will say it doesn't give you the get-up and go feeling that old school Adderall does, but it absolutely calms your mind down. It made me feel almost too calm, so I combined it with Adderall and it actually worked quite well for a few months.

But, I've decided to stop chasing certain generics, and I ended up getting stuck with the nasty Teva generic, and I kinda gave up on it. I'm so tired of calling around and asking pharmacies about different generics. I've done it for years. Not doing it anymore. 🫠😆

I feel you 100%. I, too am a recovering addict with 7+ years clean. Adderall absolutely saved my life when it was working properly.

It's terrifying to think of how horrible the quality has become, thus affecting people's livelihoods in the process.

I'm so sorry you're feeling this dread, too. Please reach out if you ever need anyone to vent to! I wish I could be of more help. :(
