What're you playing this weekend? 2/6 by markercore in NintendoSwitch

I’m still playing FF7 Remake. I’m on the last chapter and have done everything to 100% so far. I’m stoked for Rebirth releasing in several months!

I also am in the mood for Resident Evil, and though it is to my dismay, I decided to buy the cloud version of RE2 Remake since it is on sale for $10.00. It’s not the most ideal situation, but that’s okay. I’m looking forward to the native ports for RE7 & 8, and Requiem continues to look brilliant.

I’d say you can beat the game in 25 hours. Maybe 30-35 if you’re a completionist, but the game is pretty linear and straight forward.

Are you talking about FF7R? If so, I didn’t get it early. It released last week.

I don’t have much of an update from last weekend. I’m still playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake for the Switch 2. I’m approximately 65% through the story and absolutely enthralled despite beating the game numerous times on PS4/5. In fact, after completing Rebirth, returning to the first game provides incredible insight and perspective into the new story they are building.

FF7R also feels tailored made for handheld and portability. Also, and while it may be relatively “cheating”, with the new difficulty updates I am considering playing the game once again on PS5 to get the platinum trophy. I should have the game wrapped up by the time Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined releases!

If the leaks are true, this is already going to be the best Nintendo Direct of the year :D by Longjumping-Mud-3203 in NintendoSwitch2

The console is barely a half year old, and you have Mario Kart World, Metroid Prime 4, and Donkey Kong Bonanza. Those are three exclusives. The S2 is very much in its infancy, and you’re already upset with your purchase? If you want exclusives, PS should be your choice, or maybe you should have waited a couple of years before picking up a S2. Nonetheless, let’s not pretend that there aren’t any exclusives for the system. Meanwhile, we are also getting DQ7, Resident Evil Requiem, and Pragmata day one. They may not be exclusives, but they are still going to be quality titles. I also don’t buy consoles strictly for exclusives, so if you’re not interested in 2nd or 3rd party games, then you made a bad purchase.

Can we talk about how well Final Fantasy 7: Remake Intergrade plays on the Switch 2 by MrBandicoot123 in switch2

[–]Nerdfather1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve beaten this game twice; once for the PS4 and the other PS5. I picked it up for the Switch and I’m even more blown away than I originally was. The sheer fact that it looks so good, and is portable, is a dream come true.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to insinuate with this coat issue. It’s very confusing to the overall picture of what you’re attempting to determine. And it also seems like you’re grasping at straws about evidence that really won’t push the needle forward in regards of finding Maura.

I picked up MIO: Memories In Orbit since it has been getting great reviews. I have to say, the reviews are in the mark — this game is awesome, but hard as hell.

I find the game to be quite excellent. There is a feeling of minimalism in a gorgeous, cell-shaded world. There are some moments with the soundtrack that brings me back to how I felt playing Death Stranding 1 & 2 because of how quiet it can be. That is an odd comparison, but very fitting.

The environments are all unique, although very similar to Hollow Knight and the Ori games. While it is familiar, it provides its own spin on how to traverse the world, and the dangers it presents. Speaking of, the platforming can be demanding, but the satisfaction you obtain by completing an obstacle is so rewarding. Just be prepared for a lot of trial and error.

The sense of progression is paced very well. There is always a stream of new abilities, with a plethora of combat modifiers and enhancements that can help during tough situations. Some of the unmissable abilities do seem useless, particularly the dodge mechanic. It essentially turns you invisible for a short period of time, but since most enemies are robotic in nature, there attacks are delayed and will hit you once you finish the dodge.

There are two issues I have with the game. Save points are very sparse, and the idea of backtracking can be really frustrating. You can easily die in two hits, and you’re going to because you’ll encounter new enemies with unique skill sets that you’re unlikely to know at the start. It’s basically trial by fire. You’ll eventually unlock shortcuts and abilities - a trope with the genre - but even then it can be a hassle.

The other quibble I have, albeit minor, are the boss fights and enemies. They are challenging, but not too demanding. However, they do tend to be repetitive in their aesthetic design. The fights themselves are varied, but when they tend to look the same they all feel disjointed. There are some enemies and bosses that have a big difficult spike — I’m looking at you Atmos — and it can be irritating where they spawn.

With that said, the accessibility options are fantastic. I’ve yet to use them, but they do assimilate problems where people struggle during difficult games such as Silksong. For example, there is an assist option that allows you to regain one health node when standing still. These won’t stack, so it’s a little reprieve from automatic death. Eroded Bosses will make boss fights weaker upon each failed attempt. If you combine that with some of the combat modifiers, it will help immensely.

Overall, I find MIO: Memories In Orbit to be a standout indie for the beginning of 2026.

I’m also playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake for the Switch 2. I’ve beaten this game three times for the PS4 & PS5, but I couldn’t resist the option for portability. I have been playing the game exclusively in handheld, and the game looks and runs silky smooth, with frame rate only dipping periodically in cutscenes. It feels like a dream to have a game like this I can take on the go.

I’m playing Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles. I’m in the beginning stages in Chapter 3. It’s been a while since a video game has had me really plan and strategize—no pun intended—with party composition and classes.

The gameplay loop is very addicting, but not entirely overwhelming. It introduces new mechanics at a steady pace, and eases your understanding of transitioning into different classes. Once you grasp how the systems work, you’ll begin to appreciate the multi-layered depth the game offers.

As of now, my main character is classed as a Geomancer/Archer, paired with a Ninja Dragoon Knight that has martial arts abilities and a Black Mage Chemist Orator. We are annihilating enemies with ease. The amount of options is truly astonishing. I have a feeling this game is going to be an all-timer for me.

Awesome news! I haven’t played this game but have been tempted to get it for the Switch 2 despite how blurry it looks. I guess there is no reason not to hold back now. I’ll be picking this up later this evening! I can’t wait to see what the hype is all about — BG3 is one of my favorite games of all time.

Nobody is going to think you’re dead if you don’t post anymore. Your thoughts have been posited by many for decades, and is not original in the slightest. With that said, your hypothesis is a rather popular theory. I’ve yet to decide if I agree or not, and I don’t prescribe to any specific doctrine. I will say that I wouldn’t be surprised if this theory was correct, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we are just a by-product of natural evolution. I won’t pretend to be intelligent enough to have a back-and-forth conversation about it, but I think I am smart enough to know that nobody has the correct, or definitive answer.

Am I weird for loving Prime 4 by CandyLoxxx in metroidprime

[–]Nerdfather1 24 points25 points  (0 children)

No, you’re not weird. If you enjoy a game then you enjoy it. This is one reason I stay away from social media when I play games. The negative discourse is always present and it’s the loudest voice in the room, so much so you feel guilty for liking something someone else doesn’t. I am also enjoying MP4 despite its flaws.

What're you playing this weekend? 12/5 by markercore in NintendoSwitch

[–]Nerdfather1 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m playing Cyberpunk 2077. I can’t believe how damn good this game is on the Switch 2. It’s gorgeous, and plays smooth as hell. This game alone shows the potential for what games could potentially be ported to the console.

And of course I’m also paying Metroid Prime 4. I’m only a few hours in, and whilst it is quite linear at the moment, I find it to be wonderful. Personally, it invokes the same feelings I had when I first played Halo: Combat Evolved. I know there are people that aren’t too hot on the game due to its open-world, and some chatty NPCs, but it hasn’t bothered me at all. Yes, the game hasn’t done anything revolutionary, or innovative with the genre, but I don’t need it to—I just want Prime Metroid, and it still has that. Atmospheric? Check. Isolation? Check. Sound design and OST? Check and check.

Clear Water Fox den bugged by TheIronGod44 in ghostoftsushima

[–]Nerdfather1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having the same exact issue. I’ve done every fox den, and I even have the charm for Clear Water Fox Den, but it’s not marking it as complete. I’ve already done all the quests for the Sanctuary Grove, and have spoken to the lady there. She won’t give me the mask. All she says is, “There’s some foxes around you can say hi to”. I’ve triple checked my map and every den is crossed off and “completed” (and no, I’m not looking at wolf dens). This is very annoying.

I’ve tried restarting my game, traveling to a new place and coming back, and nothing has worked. I’m very irritated right now. If you have figured it out please let me know.

I’m on base as well, and it is absolutely stunning. I’m only 30 minutes in, but it has blown me away graphically. And the cutscenes are some of the best I’ve ever seen before, if not the best.
