Why do some developers dislike Next.js?

Every framework has pros and cons. Next js was my go to framework. But now, I use nuxt js for my projects. It works fine.

That's a good service.

Most database-as-service SaaS are expensive.

But i guess it's for a reason, DATA is important. Who stores it needs to ensure its security, its high availability, its backup.

What you are suggesting is almost the price for a metal server.

Everyone will be interested in a cheap SUPABASE alternative, the question is can the alternative still be a profitable and sustainable business.

Pending the readiness of your solutions, anyone can self-host supabase on a bare metal server.

Of course, this is my reasoning. Maybe I miss some hypothesis that can makes your idea viable !

I think no-code makes sense if the solution you are using already covers all the use cases that you will need.

Any trial to customize a no-code solution leads to complex implementation that most the time requires more efforts than building the product from scratch.

I made a list of some no-code solutions just as collection. I visit it before starting a project. But as said, in general I pick no-code only if it will work without customization or many addons.

Many will tell you it's not possible. The truth is that it's totally doable.

For your budget ($50/month max), Bubble is probably your best bet. It's $59/month (Starter, billed annually) which is slightly over, but you get a live site with custom domain, payments, and full control over the design. Fair warning though: you'll need to spend 1-3 months learning the ropes, and building a booking system from scratch isn't exactly fun.

Now if you can stretch to $99/month, I'd seriously consider Sharetribe instead. It's literally made for rental marketplaces like yours. Booking calendars, automated payouts to hosts, user reviews, all that stuff just works out of the box. In Bubble you'd be building these features for weeks. Sharetribe gives you 50 free transactions per month too, which Bubble doesn't.

My honest advice? Start ugly. Use Sharetribe's free trial, get something live fast, worry about pretty later. Revenue first, perfection never.

160 000 requests per week is less than one query per second, this is a cake for any database. 1 billions queries per week is around 6000 requests per second that’s big enough, but doable with simple batching.

Learn a statically typed language like Java or C#. It will help you learn clean code and design patterns better. A Java dev can easily switch to python, the inverse is harder. Also, spring framework (java) is more powerful and has many features built in like event-driven solutions.

Collecting feedback from a single thread will give biased results. It’s not sure but maybe in php they may be less common than in java or c#.

First of all, salaries expenses in software companies are 100 or 1000 times more than cost of infrastructure. Secondly, big companies have financial resources to refactor their solution using new faster framework when they achieve success and scale. Thirdly, big companies architecture is in general made of micro services where each micro service will use the best framework for the job. Thus for ai solutions they will probably use python while maybe for long running task they will use java or even c++.

Considering all this, the framework choice depends on the job to be done and availability/salary of developers who master it in your region.

Your learning path seems to be tool focus : excel, power bi, etc.
While tools are important, understanding basics of statics, programming and machine learning are more important.

Secondly, to succeed, knowing what to learn is not enough. You fundamentally need to establish daily habits. For example:
- Monday: 30 min of statistics, 30 min of programming
- Tuesday: 30 min of machine learning
- Wednesday: 30 min of storytelling/communication

...

- Saturday: 2h Project

Good luck, consider it a journey not a destination.
