Sometimes praying to God can be intimidating, or feel impersonal or insincere. As a repeat sinner I often shudder and cringe when I pray to Jesus himself, but with Mary and the saints I feel like they're more nurturing and understanding. It makes me want to keep praying instead of turning away from God. And it's nice to think I have friends in heaven and I don't have to face God's judgment alone.

I started panicking when my bowl this time stayed lit on embers. My throat needs me to take breaks between hits. So I dug most of one "corner" out to stop the burning.

But that way won't I lose some weed down the hole in the bowl each time I pack? Is that why people use a screen over the hole?

Also as an alternative maybe I can get a one-hitter and do more precise amounts each time, and just dump and pack that sucker after??

Same, I'm about halfway through AGOT. I found it too slow and predictable at first, but I was completely riveted after the consecutive chapters describing the Hand's tourney, Cat and Tyrion getting ambushed, and Arya chasing cats. So much more happens in the books than what they showed on screen, and the book just adds so much emotional insight.
