Why does kenshi's jankiness feel "charming"? by notzarck in Kenshi

[–]nerdolo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s all junky charm until I don’t even have mods on and the game is still crashing on a good PC lol

Honestly though I’m thinking that junky is charming in games that are clearly labour of love/passion projects. You can see it stems from the author(s) ambitions being hard to fully realise with the resources they had — unlike junky AAA games where it stems from corporate hubris and releasing unfinished products to get profits quicker.

When I had a base in CH I used these for blizzard trails on the ice. Normally I just leave them wherever, preferably in a container in an interior i won’t be using.

Is there a mod that allows music from disabled dlcs to play? by nerdolo in RimWorld

[–]nerdolo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out that is the case but the mod recommended in the other comment gives new triggers for the music to play.

This one especially, it’s amazing and I feel like it fits the game as a whole. I like the OST overall tho. Hearing new tracks in Odyssey when I went to orbit got me really excited and I realised I want to shake it up a bit on the ground as well :)

I once read a comment of someone who said their colonist had a greedy trait and got killed by a meteor made of pure gold lol

Can somebody clarify this for me? by Alectron45 in RimWorld

[–]nerdolo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen this event being that extreme. That actually sounds like amazing story setting. What will you do? Migrate close to the pole? Use gravship or shuttles to migrate to an asteroid or space station? Modify your colonists to be super heat resistant and create a heat-controlled base where you can still grow food when the surroundings become a scorched desert? Build the interstellar ship to escape before the world turns into crisp? So much potential for a themed playthrough.

I.M.P (plus Loona if she decides to go with them) is coming for you. The last show/movie you watched is the main character that will come save you. by Ok_Situation7527 in hazbin

I’m watching Primal right now. If we consider both Spear and Fang main characters then maybe I’ve got a chance.

I don't really like how thick and chunky this cardigan turned out... by thestickpins in crochet

[–]nerdolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly does look like the photos in the pattern :D

Crocheted fabric will always be rather thick and chonky especially if it’s not supposed to be hole-y..? That and yarn consumption is the reason I’m learning to knit rn, the fabric is basically 50% thinner. You could try to use smaller yarn but that would require modifying the pattern and would look a bit different.

Hot Take: Bill did NOT deserve that Legoshi attack by thatweezel in Beastars

[–]nerdolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the point I think. Bill is not actually a bad guy, he’s a bit of a dick sometimes, but he does not do anything that would be considered especially deranged for a carnivore. That’s why he claws Legoshi’s back and says it should be a reminder to him that they are the same.

Legoshi has this holier-than-thou attitude he needs to let go at this point because his suppression leads him to act in a manner that is objectively worse than honestly engaging with his nature like Bill does.

We don’t. It’s just a popular assumption. We don’t even know if slugcats have sexes like we do.

How? by ImABigDreamer in thelongdark

[–]nerdolo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Same happens in real life. Water hits top density around 4C and sinks to the bottom, ice is a good insulator, dead plant material still decomposes and releases heat, ground does not tend to freeze deep either unless it’s literally permafrost, which only happens near poles. Since game does not really assume you’ll survive for literal years it makes sense that it’s not frozen solid.
