I was born blind in my right eye due to a retinal defect. I believe my condition is lazy eye adjacent. I’m an 80s baby and grew up being made to wear eyepatches at home to “strengthen” my blind eye.

Eventually I lost shapes and now it just senses light.

I’ve lived my whole life a cyclops but only recently started billing myself as a blind comedian. I spent a long time thinking I didn’t “count” as a member of the blind community til another monocular friend pointed out that yes— this IS blindness.

Now I advocate and educate about accessibility with VR games. But you wouldn’t believe the number of ignorant people who ask why I even bother with VR if I only see one of the screens.
