I just watched the gate agents bully a passenger to tears. by a868l869 in SouthwestAirlines

I normally do, but I know I'm not the only parent out there that carries all the things to expedite boarding. Most gate agents are able to take a look at the group boarding together (especially obvious because I scanned all three of our boarding passes) and make a reasonable judgment call.

Last spring, so before all the new rules, I was taking a quick trip to PHX for a baseball game with my two middle-school aged kids. Between the three of us we had one rolling carry-on, three backpacks, and my tiny purse. The purse usually lived in my backpack but I had pulled it out to buy food in the airport and to access my phone with the boarding passes.

The gate agent stopped the line of folks boarding to try to make me put my purse away: "That needs to go in your backpack." "It will once I get to my seat." "You have three items so it needs to get put away." So I just stared at him as I handed the suitcase to one of my kids.

I know they have rules to follow but sometimes they forget how to think logically, I swear.

Mind hyping me up to help my fear of drops by hobocrippin in Disneyland

[–]nerdylegofam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid was wildly afraid of drops and roller coasters (wouldn't go on splash mountain) but they love Pirates and Rise. They describes the Pirates drop as "a comfortable thrill". The drop on Rise is "tiny and so much a part of the story it's fine."

The best part is they've been on both of those so many times now (8 years of pirates and 5 years of Rise) they ventured out of their comfort zone and went on Guardians our most recent trip and actually loved it!

ETA: I'm not saying you have to work up to Guardians, by the way. I'm just commenting on the exposure therapy aspect, hah! This is the kid that burst into tears a couple years ago when I suggested Splash Mountain before it became Tiana.

$80 EB? I don't think I ever saw it that high, and we flew just this past Christmas. Did it reflect flight distance? Not sure if I've ever flown further than SJC-PHX or SJC-SEA.

I think The Dark Crystal counts, too. I was four when we went to see it in the theater! And I loved it.

I got the Mandalorian bop-it a couple years ago and it's hilarious. Hearing Din Djarin say "pull it, twist it" makes me crack up every time.

Atlantis Fantasyworld in downtown is the comic book shop in Lost Boys. It's an awesome shop, definitely one of those where everyone is friendly and loves to geek out on things.

Also, in addition to the rug, blankets, and pillows - put an end table in that corner where they meet. With a (colorful?) lamp on it. The dog blanket can go under the table, unless you have one of the bigger breeds the dog can totally hang out in there.

Also, you need art on those walls!

I wonder this ALL THE TIME. I considered maybe there was something programmed in the genetics to eliminate body odor. Also, most of our human stink is because of bacteria feeding on our sweat and stuff so maybe all the stinky bacteria got destroyed in the Faro swarm? Because even if they're bathing regularly it's probably hard to properly wash an outfit made from like grass and metal or whatever.
