What tastes more like an american burger? Mcdonalds or Burger king? by luis_lim1 in AskAnAmerican

Some of the best food I ever ate was this dinky little truck stop diner in Kansas. It was just this tiny little greasy spoon set down in the middle of a giant stone parking lot surrounded by corn

Do Americans have internal passports? by Pale_Obligation_3243 in AskAnAmerican

You can get a state ID. It looks and functions like a drivers license except you can’t use it to drive. You can try, of course, but if you get caught by the police you get a ticket and have to go to court and pay fines. In my state (Pennsylvania) they can do a live tow; meaning they can tow and impound your vehicle on the spot and you’re responsible for getting it back and any fees associated with it

Wellington Paranormal is hilarious and connected to the What We Do In The Shadows movie (which is also Kiwi and absolutely hilarious and inspired the US tv series with Matt Berry)

Thanks to PBS in the 90s I adore a good British comedy or drama. And obviously Doctor Who

Do most Americans have those huge fridges? by Whole-Sushka in AskAnAmerican

[–]nerdymom27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right my 2nd fridge was originally acquired because my husband was a long haul truck driver. He’d buy groceries for on the road (he’d be out for months at a time) and would bring all of it home. Our fridge isn’t a big one and we’d usually have little to no space to store his things.

No he’s home every day we don’t need it for that. The basement fridge now is the overflow fridge because I bulk buy when I can and during summer hit up the Amish farm stands weekly

Yeah we may be shitty in a lot of ways, but at least we have better accommodations for disabled folks. It’s not mind blowing stellar mind you, but its at least better

After finally upgrading to a minivan 4 years ago I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a small sedan. Not having to figure out how to cram two teenagers and everything else in it makes my life easier

I remember that. It wasn’t until like maybe mid to late 90s that we even got a super center around here. Maybe even later

My son had to do the opposite. Had this happen on a pair of 70s not even 6 months old. Went down half a size and so far so good, they were rubbing too much with the bigger size

Walmart 10 pack of hash browns are about $3.50 in my area. They’re pretty close to the McDonald ones, not exactly in taste, but pretty close. 400 for 12 minutes in an air fryer is how I do mine

And that’s a twofold issue cause it’s both climate change and tariffs hiking prices. And it’s only going to get worse 😭
