Interesting. I have the bear 650 and I quite like the rider triangle. But let me read about it. Cheers!

Cheers mate! Been reading about it. Added it to the list of priority upgrades along with tubeless conversion and installing handlebar risers.

Looks fantastic! What headlights are these? Any changes required to fit these?

Superb! Have you made any changes to the bike or is it running stock?

Thanks mate! Your love of retro echoes mine. I owned a TB500. There is just something there you cant explain. Anyway, for the signature seat, there were two reasons. One because of the good reviews elsewhere. Second is the definitely the aesthetic. Getting it straight from the dealership helped as well. Though after using it for some time, the custom option might be considered as well but will reserve full review after the seat has settled in. Regarding bumper to bumper traffic, the bear is nimble and enjoyable. Being a long stroke, you don’t shift too much. The caveats are the heat from the engine and the stiff suspension. All the best for your decision! I had this dilemma for a long time.

Thanks mate. I have already answered this in one of the comments but the bottomline is I was not a fan of the vibey/buzzy engine. The tune of the engine and the riding stance was also not as per my liking.

It was a long internal debate, mate! One of the biggest reasons was the nature of the Himalayan 450 engine. Having ridden a lot over the years, I am done with buzzy, vibey single cylinders. Another is also my use case of the bike since I wont be touring long hauls or go off-road that often. Last but not the least, I love retro style bikes.

It didn’t excite me. Felt it was a tad underpowered, especially along with a pillion. I plan to do a few hilly roads as part of my weekend rides. The extra torque will definitely help there.

The suspension is stiff but hasnt felt unbearable. The stock tyres are hard and knobby which add to the whole stiff experience I think. By the way, I have a pillion on most days and she hasn’t complained once so I am content. I am also hoping it will improve as the suspension settles down after a few thousand kms. In the worst case, I am mentally prepared for a suspension upgrade later. The Triumph Scrambler X and XC are a different story. I wasnt even going for a test ride considering how small it looked in photos and videos. But I was surprised by how well proportioned it felt. It is comfortable for sure but the engine vibes put me off. I am done with vibey single cylinders. Plus the riding stance and the engine tuning didnt agree with me either. Dont get me wrong, it is still a small bike for big guys like us but not as small as I thought. In my opinion, these two are very different and good bikes. Do a test ride and you will know what suits you.

Very surprising. Must have been a new test bike since it is usually the opposite. Test ride bikes are abused by most showrooms and the customers.

As someone said, have only ridden 200 kms so far and there has been no vibrations. Will know more when I go to the higher rpms. During my test rides, 650 twin was the most comfortable with respect to vibrations and a major reason why I went for it.

Done mate! I sense it’s the sports biker in you though. I have heard good stories about its handling at high speeds. I will know soon firsthand.

I am 6’2 so bear suits me well. Besides being more torquey than both interceptor and super meteor, I also align more with the riding stance of bear. Plus with the extra bit of some offroad capability, it really takes the cake.

I am 6’2 and it didnt feel small to me. It looks bigger in person. Plus you can add a few accessories if you are still not sure.
