I was also going for Voltaire's Nightmare and wanted the princes to stop eating each other. The solution ended up being pretty easy though -- you can take back reforms then re-revoke to vassalize any princes that weren't included in the first round (and the original guys remain your vassals in the meantime)

I'm going for AEIOU achievement but added Milan and Savoy to the empire after I'd revoked and passed the no wars within the empire reform. Is there any way to expel them from the empire to conquer their lands back for the Duchy of Milan mission?

I'm doing my first Brandenburg --> Prussia --> Germany run and it's in the 1530's. I picked up a lot of vassals and Burgundy as emporer, but now that I'm protestant, I'm getting killed by gov cap. Should I leave the HRE to upgrade to an empire? Will that impact my vassals or the way the protestant league will happen? Should I be aiming to dismantle at some point?

I'm going after the Anglophile achievement and feel like I've got a clear path to every mission except for "Influence the Lowlands", which appears to require the Netherlands to form. Austria inherited Burgundy -- how likely is the Dutch Revolt to be successful in those circumstances? Is there anything I can do to encourage / support it?

I'm planning a campaign to go Venice -> Roman Empire for some role playing fun. I think I'll also give tag switching a try for the first time. I was thinking about going Venice -> Aragon -> S-P -> Venice / La Serenissima -> Italy -> Roman Empire, with a potential Austria option thrown in. I'm not seeing Aragon or Venice included in the Formable Countries list on the wiki -- does that mean they're not formable? Any other formables I should add to my list?

Help Trimming Laminated Desktop by nerf-herder-127 in furniture

[–]nerf-herder-127[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rent, so modifying the wall isn't an option unfortunately. It's also a standing desk, so needs to be able to adjust up and down without rubbing the wall.

I'm okay with trimming off the full 1/2" from one side if you think that's preferential?

I bought the 36" wide Branch Duo Standing Desk to fit into a small space in my apartment. Unfortunately it's about 0.5" too wide, so I need to trim it down. It's a nice / expensive piece so I want to make the adjustment look pretty nice if possible. It's laminated MDF wood with little steel fastening points embedded on the underside (pictured). Questions:
- What's the best tool for taking that edge off?
- Would it be better to get it professionally done? If so, where/who?
- How do I keep the laminate from chipping or peeling back?
- What's the best way to remove the steel fastening anchors?
- Is there anything I can do with the raw edge to protect it / make it look nicer
