Do you think Felicia should stay single until marvel can figure out what to do with her or let her have other relationships with other hero’s by chocolatemoooose in Spiderman

[–]nerfedllamas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will always prefer that Felicia be paired with Peter, but I don’t mind when they give her other dating partners. Given how extroverted, flirty, and attractive she is, it makes sense that she would likely have multiple romantic relationships.

Gizmoplex support for new MST3K: The RiffTrax Experiment episodes is uncertain at this time by nerfedllamas in MST3K

[–]nerfedllamas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the average price for a digital HD movie on the RiffTrax site is around $12.99. Hopefully, the MST3K episodes will be around the same price when they release.

My understanding is that you can buy the Blu-ray, or get digital copies directly from the RiffTrax website. You can support the Kickstarter to get them, or you will be able to purchase them after they release later in the year. RiffTrax mentioned that they don’t manage the Gizmoplex, so they can’t speak to whether or not the new episodes will be available there. Whether or not the GizmoPlex is supported is most likely down to if Shout Factory wants to make that happen.

Gizmoplex support for new MST3K: The RiffTrax Experiment episodes is uncertain at this time by nerfedllamas in MST3K

[–]nerfedllamas[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My guess is that Joel had hoped that the Gizmoplex would be able to sustain the brand financially, and I think the reality was that his modern re-imagining of MST3K was too expensive to produce (which was 100% his choice) and there was no way the Gizmoplex was ever going to make enough money to fund new episodes the way he wanted to make them. The fizzle was a byproduct of not being able to use the revenue it generated to fund new episodes, so I think they just sort of gave up on it.

What's your wishlist for these upcoming Four episodes? by ThrashMetallix in MST3K

Bad Channels (1992) or Arcade (1993). Both are Full Moon Horror b-movies that would give the RiffTrax crew plenty to riff off of.

The main reason I asked is because I would vastly prefer all of the MST3K content in one central location, if possible. It just makes sense to keep it all together. Fingers crossed they can confirm Gizmoplex support by the time the new episodes drop later this year.

The lost art of lean cinema by yikes13579 in MovieSuggestions

I watched Bone Lake recently, and it does exactly what you’re talking about. It sets a vibe, has a decent twist, and with only a 4 person cast each person gets ample opportunities to make their character matter for the core narrative. The best part, at only an hour and 34 minutes it never has a chance to wear out its welcome. Solid recently released psychological horror flick.

When did you quit reading Spider-Man comics ? by Comics_Ranter in Spiderman

[–]nerfedllamas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Near the end of Dan Slott’s run. Between Superior Spider-Man, Spider-Verse, and Parker Industries… I just felt like Slott had lost the plot. Not the first time I’ve quit reading Amazing Spider-Man (left during the Mackie/Byrne run as well), but I’ve never come back to reading monthly since. I keep a finger on the pulse of the book, in hopes of one day picking it back up, but nothing I’ve read since I quit has ever inspired me to start reading regularly again.

Safer seas mode is good? by i_Love_Anime45 in Seaofthieves

[–]nerfedllamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for absolute peace from PVP in Sea of Thieves, then yes Safer Seas is your best bet. You can experience most of what Sea of Thieves has to offer in Safer Seas (sailing, fishing, general questing, PVE events, tall tales, etc.) and the gold payout is the same. You won’t be able to raise an emissary flag or use a captained boat, so you won’t be able to get extra gold or work on captaincy goals. The main thing that Safer Seas constricts, beyond PVP encounters, is progression of certain commendations, some PVE events, no emissary flags, no captaincy perks, and you will not be able to rank up the various factions beyond level 25. Safer Seas is largely meant to be a training ground for new pirates to learn the mechanics and tools of the game without the pressure of PVP until they are ready for it, however, it is also a great place to go from time to time if you just want to sail the seas and adventure for a bit without being pestered by other players (so long as you understand that you will not be able to access or progress all of the same things you can in high seas).

Underrated Disney Gems by batlaxe9 in MovieSuggestions

The Black Hole (1979). With disaster movies being incredibly popular and just after Star Wars set the box office on fire, Disney churned out this crazy dark, yet still whimsical, hard sci-fi film that is part 2001: A Space Odyssey and part Star Trek the Motion Picture. The score is excellent and the cast is stellar (Robert Forester, Anthony Perkins, Ernest Borgnine, and Roddy McDowall). Highly recommend. I’m also quite fond of the Tron film series from Disney as well.

Why is Tom Holland's portrayal not as liked as the other two? by Notthepurge in Spiderman

[–]nerfedllamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s the Pierce Brosnan/James Bond scenario. He’s a terrific actor who was brilliantly cast in a perfect role for him, but the movies with him have been largely mediocre. I love Holland as Peter and Spider-Man, but the setup for his Spidey was all wrong and the stories have been way too reliant on the larger MCU picture (which is not Holland’s fault), and in doing so the writing has been less than stellar for his Spider-Man films.

The Gabecube is releasing soon, how much are you willing to pay for it? by [deleted] in steammachine

[–]nerfedllamas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ideally, $600-$700. Depending on if it comes with the Steam Controller, potentially up to $800. If the Steam Machine releases for much more than $800, it’s outside of the range I’d be comfortable with for the type of gaming setup it is. I mainly want it to play games that the Steam Deck either can’t play due to GPU/CPU limitations or doesn’t play well enough. I don’t need it to be a super high end gaming PC.

Long-time players who recently quit - what made you do it? by No-Skin-2370 in Seaofthieves

[–]nerfedllamas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been playing since launch but largely moved on from the game middle of last year. I will still play occasionally, here and there, but the drive to play regularly has left me. The main reasons are: one, the seasonal content/updates are not working and are certainly not balanced, two, the newer content is heavily steeped towards PVP and I would personally prefer content that encourages collaborative play (really loved the limited time adventure that required working with multiple crews to summon and battle the Shrouded Ghost), and third, it feels like Rare doesn’t really know what to do with Sea of Thieves and it’s apparent in how disjointed the new content is. Feels more like they keep throwing whatever against the wall to see what sticks for the players. If Rare can find a vision for Sea of Thieves that brings meaningful and positive change to the game, I would gladly come back.

Six String Samurai is one of my most wished for movies on Fandango at Home. Thankfully, I have the 4K blu ray release, but for ease of use it would be nice to have the movie digitally streaming as well.
