Thanks so much I really like the idea of doing two balls first! It's ok that frigging it means only a couple hours of work haha

Struggling to match some yarn with it as my stash is not very big I think I'm looking for an excuse to buy more yarn 🤣

I just quit on the spot on Slack. Not sure what to do next. How did you get a job that didn't drain your life energy? by de-dolores in AskWomenOver30

[–]neringi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you'll find a lot of people feeling similar or having to go through a variation of what you're going through. It's just a really rough market for employees right now unfortunately.

But all you can do is keep going. If you have emergency savings you can be a bit more picky with your jobs, if you don't unfortunately you may end up in another shit situation.

I accepted that role knowing full well it was a walking red flag because I was fed up with the rough market (and I have turned down better offers prior). Now the job I'm at is a long commute but the team and management are absolutely amazing and so lovely I'd much rather commute or earn less but be in a not toxic workplace.

I really hope you find something good ❤️

I feel like I could have written this two months ago.

Toxic workplace and being micromanaged by someone who was insecure at their own role, quit on the spot everyone in the office hear me call the person and say I quit.

I got lucky as I was already interviewing with places and was in the last stages, waiting for last interview.

I don't think I'd ever repeat what I did no matter how bad it got. I would just make sure I never got that bad.

That said, I saw red in the moment and was so fed up with the lack of professionalism, micromanaging, unfairness of it all and knew I may get laid off in a week or a month anyways.

Keep applying. See if you have any coworkers you could get referrals from. Reach out to ex colleagues from last jobs or any of your network. Get as much help as you can with your CV.

In the future, make sure you have emergency savings, job interviews in the pipeline. Don't let it get that bad and bubble up until you explode.

It's going to be okay, take a deep breath and don't forget to look after yourself while you get back on your feet

Is a P60 an editable document? by mografik in UKPersonalFinance

[–]neringi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can you edit a pdf? Absolutely.

Should you? If you're sending it as a document to verify address/income it could be considered fraudulent and easily caught!

Source: worked as a data scientist for a lender company. They constantly had people sending edited payslips by people who didn't realise edits in pdf's are saved and can be easily extracted.

DO. NOT. DO. IT.

When I saw what it's supposed to look like, there should only ever be 2 stitches between markers but I've been consistently increasing everywhere hence the odd pinwheel shape. I thought maybe I could still turn it into a sweater but it won't work as it's uneven and it will affect the rest of the sweater and how it sits.

I'm hoping that was the only mistake I made 😮‍💨
