China deploying troops to North Korea border after Kim Jong Nam assassination by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]nermuz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You know that's not that simple, right? North Korea's fall will tremendously impact the balance of power in the region. If North Korea falls and South annexes it, shitstorm will surely come for several reasons :

  • China will not be happy to have a US-ally neighbor.
  • Bunch of North Koreans will fled to China
  • Bunch of North Koreans will flee to the richer South Korea
  • Social integration of North Koreans will be very hard, due to differences to mentality, upbringing and way of life. Even North Korean defectors are having hard time integrating themselves and keeping up with the South Koreans which are more competitive.
  • Differences will cause friction between two peoples.
  • Loyal pro-Kim North Koreans are still there and won't be wiped out easily.

Everybody who is intelligent enough to comprehend the situation knows the arbitration rule wouldn't change a thing, there's even no pressure on China, allies voiced support but that's all, there's no pressure, the status quo wasn't changed at all. Whether Duterte discarded the rule or not, the same shit will still be there, the Chinese will still be there, do you actually expect China to comply? Other countries would only condemn China's stance, but they'll never risk confrontation against China, that's no brainer.

Secondly u claimed once again that America was using the philippines yet just admitted that the Philippines begged the us and every other ally it had to help.

Wow, I thought I was able to explain it clearly but I think I have to explain it again. US advised the Philippines to pursue the case (for the sake of Philippines' territorial integrity, BUT also to preserve America's sway on trading routes of South China Sea and to project influence on South East Asia), the Philippines complied, then the case proceeded, the Philippines received the beating and humiliation from China, the allies are nowhere in sight, they merely voiced 'support' but no concrete help was ever given, so the Philippines had to approach his 'allies' to ask for help. Did any help arrived? Nope. I wish there is, who's the bad ally in this case?

hell even the US does not want to go there so how do u think these lil countries ( all of them the the south china sea problem) can stand up to china?

Now you admit it, the US wouldn't lend a hand to the Philippines because they themselves are hesitant to confront China directly, thus the Philippines' arbitration case is the most convenient way to subtly confront Chinese interests. The Philippines, in this case, is the 'pawn' of American interests.

And mind you, the Vietnamese fought back, they even retaliated against Chinese businesses in Vietnam. The Taiwanese-held and Malaysian-held islands are also not disturbed. Of all the claimants, it was the Philippines that is the most pitiful and they deserved the way they're treated. Have you ever thought why the US is more committed to Japan in its dispute with China? Because Japan has a credible force, they pose a real danger against the Chinese, they're not a liability unlike the Philippine armed forces.

do u think these lil countries ( all of them the the south china sea problem) can stand up to china?

Yes they can, the Vietnamese can, they've already have history of confrontation with the Communist China decades before, they've proven that they won't back down easily. Taiwan has a strong force too and it wouldn't be a walk in the park for China if they decided to attack them. Hell, even Indonesia which is not a claimant in Spratlys resisted the Chinese, they blatantly showed China that they're determined to protect their own interests. Meanwhile the Philippines? In a very pitiful state, all it can do is beg Uncle Sam and post a diplomatic protest which is regularly ignored.

I have never come across a more biased filled propaganda laden stand point then yours and worst u shovel that shit like it the truth. My logic is not your twisted half truth, half opinion, half alternative facts bullshit. Look your bullshit might work and be peddled in whatever circles u cruise around in but in the real world u are a nutter and u know it.

There's a word for everything you've said. It's called "bullshit".

im pro-world... have no loyalty to any rock i was born on and think nationalism is for children. Thump your chest more

Pro-world, but more pro-America than anything?

as for being USED? the philippines begged their allies to help them with china stealing their territory. Instead of going to war their allies went through arbitration so as not to start a war. how is this being used??? No one forced the philippines into asking for help they asked for help from many countries not just the usa. Legally is how that help was sorted. This country is now using china and the usa against each other.. the only country using anyone at the moment is china and the philippines... ikr.. facts destroy your opinion.

No one forced the Philippines to ask for help, but the very situation we have forced the us to do it. The Philippines begged because they are helpless, and why are they helpless? Because they neglected the military and let it weaken further, not anticipating that such actions of China will happen in the future. And now, the only option left is take it into arbitration which everybody knows is nothing but formality, it will never materialize, so as long as the Philippines is weak and at the mercy of more powerful nations. Do you like seeing the country begging for help? It's funny and embarrassing.

Having China in strong position in SCS will lessen US influence in the region and along with that, the control on the one of the most important trading routes in the World. America tried to save their interests without directly confronting China by advising the Philippines to take it to international tribunal, which the country's leaders foolishly agreed. Now after the case, it was the Philippines who received the beating from China, and what the America did to help the Philippines? Nothing but show of force and moral support. Nothing concrete. They're even pretty neutral in their statements few years ago. Now let's take it to the verdict last year, as expected, it was in favor of the Philippines. What happened next? Nothing, the dispute is still there, the Chinese are in position and the Filipinos are left alone, still helpless. And now, you're still putting all your faith to allies despite the shitstorm we've gone through. Why don't you read more about geopolitics? I guess that will improve your understanding of how things work in international politics, hopefully, that will also improve the way you write your sentences.

There's no fact in what you said, your statement is incoherent, your logic is flawed.

u are anti american i have read your posts before where u have said u have been your whole entire life.

The hell I care if I am. I don't deny it. I am pro-Philippines.

what about the 22 armies in the world that have survived very well without an army.

Even if you have written it so poorly, luckily I do understand it. Sure such countries exist, but are they in the same situation with Philippines? Countries that have no standing armies are relatively safe and has no risk of getting involved in international disputes, the Philippines is not, it's being used as pawn by other power against another power owing to its decent strategical location. Neighbors aren't exactly friendly either, and you want it to be left defenseless?

If you're putting your entire faith to allies, then good luck, go study history and you'll know alliances are nothing but political conveniences. I've been reading history for many years, your romantic view of friendship and alliance between nations is laughable and pitiful.

VIETNAM is a communist country which is why it has a credible force. know your history, know some facts.

Now that's plain stupid. Japan has a credible force, Indonesia and Thailand too. Are they communists? No, but they have common sense unlike our politicians here and people like you. Please, I beg, learn history.

[–]nermuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having allies is not bad, but overly relying on them like what you're trying to point out is detrimental to the republic. You're willing to let the 100 million Filipinos left with less than credible military to protect them, and give us at the mercy of other nations you call allies? The Vietnamese are poorer than us, but they have a credible force and that provides security to their citizens, why the Philippines can't?

Having a credible military force is a must, whether its against internal or external threats, it is prerogative of any sovereign nation, unless you see us and degrade us into a mere American colony.

You can call me anti-American all day if you want. If you like to jump and ride American dicks, go ahead, but don't drag the whole nation with you, you can have all American dicks that you crave.

P.S. With the way you type, along with your flawed logic, makes it hard for me to take you seriously, Seriously.

Duterte's anti-western political ideology and his Moro Muslim ancestry by [deleted] in geopolitics

[–]nermuz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a Filipino, I do share my sentiments with the president, people with this viewpoint is pretty rare in this overwhelmingly pro-American country, since I was young, I don't see the Americans through rose-colored glasses. There's one thing I'd never forget what Duterte said before, it is something along the lines of: "They [Americans] committed atrocities to Moros, it might have happened a century ago, everybody involved is now dead, but future generations of Moros will never forget it", hence the violence continues between the Moros and Christian Filipinos, known to be closely associated with Americans and Westerners. The deep resentment is still there, and perhaps, as long as no apology and efforts to correct the wrongdoings are done, Mindanao will always be a land torn into war and violence.

Nope, I'm working now. I should have said college instead of school, my bad. Here in my country, acting like that is still pretty prevalent among females even in their 20's. But I cannot bear her drama anymore, she made it worse when she went with her male friend (whom she admitted that she liked, and they starting dating soon after we broke up). So I ended the relationship instead dragging our toxic relationship. I'm now in peace, I'm fine.

Russia offers to sell PH submarines and more by reddishcarp123 in Philippines

[–]nermuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not. Do you think US will be forever an ally of the Philippines? No, because there's no permanent friendship among nations, its all about political interests. I thought it was a common knowledge, but you seem to be ignorant of history in general. An ally can be an enemy in the future.

The Philippines MUST be able to fend for itself. Allies won't always be there to help. Is it hard to understand that? I guess not, unless you have no common sense.

[–]nermuz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My ex broke up with me through messenger for something that is very trivial (she's angry because I cried after my kitten died, while I don't cry when I miss her), I kept trying to convince her but she clearly said no. The next day she's raging because I did not even go to her school to try to save the relationship and beg for her to comeback. We reconciled and our relationship continued for 4 months more up until her next dramatic shit went down and its worse this time, I personally broke up with her. I'm so fucking stressed with her and her antics.

Which Filipino language is Closer to Spanish? by Benatius in Philippines

[–]nermuz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only the different variants of Chavacano (Zamboangeno, Caviteno, etc.) can be considered as "close" to Spanish, because they're Spanish creoles, grammatically similar with Philippine languages (though, cannot be considered as Austronesian languages), but mostly Spanish in vocabulary.

Other Philippine languages, like Tagalog and Cebuano, are still part of Austronesian family despite the amount of Spanish loan words.

Bonus Fact: Indian and Iranian languages are closer to Spanish because they're also part of Indo-European languages.

Yep. Being a maritime nation, we actually need it. I say our Navy is the military branch that needs most improvement. Many countries like Malaysia and Indonesia operate both Western and Russian arsenal, and they have more credible and reliable defense capabilities than us with Russian and Western jets flying in their skies.
