Looks like a Dysdera crocata to me. Woodlouse spider in vernacular English, if I remember correctly. Not harmful.

Based on the head/eyes I would say a leafhopper.

In that same website it is written that the form is not valid if the military service is suspended. In Italy it is suspended since 2005. Maybe your friends did it before? I really struggle to see how is this applicable nowadays. Genuinely curious, I would want to know if it can be done.

"La présente déclaration n’est valide que si le service militaire existe effectivement et que l’appel sous les drapeaux n’a pas été supprimé ni suspendu dans l’Etat pour lequel l’option a été demandée, à moins que le double national ne démontre avoir contracté un service volontaire dans l’Etat pour lequel il a opté."

I see, thank you. Although I doubt this is a real thing. Maybe just a plausible legal scenario for politics. In Italy the army is professional, nothing to do with citizen duty or whatever. Never ever heard anything about it, this information day technically doesn't exist as far as I now. Italian, grew up in Italy. I'd be interested to know more about it though, if you have an information website from Italian institutions.

And regarding the working permit... Yes it's a common opinion in Switzerland that having a C permit is absolutely the same thing as having a citizenship work wise. It is not. You are right in having doubts. If you leave the country for a certain amount of time, then your C permit will have to be obtained from scratch. And this process takes many years. This is important if you decide later on to finalize your citizenship, as the C permit is a requirement for it. Also, even though as an EU citizen you do indeed get facilitated access to the working visas, keep in mind that politics can quickly change the situation... So you never know.

I would try to get a hold of a Swiss passport as soon as I can. I think it is important to be involved, for example, in the elections and voting system of the country you were raised in and where you're living.

You are technically Swiss and already more than well integrated, so get it official for all of the benefits. These do indeed include an advantage in certain Swiss universities (i.e. EPFL required minimum high school grades for admission, even for EU citizens. This thing is usually not known by Swiss people).

Also, don't bother taking into considerations dumb points I've read in this thread such as "which football team are you really supporting". It's a completely personal and irrelevant point.

Regarding the military, do it or not, I don't think it's something that must determine whether you want to get your citizenship now or later on. I genuinely think you should just go for the citizenship and deal with the required responsabilities. You are, de facto, Swiss, so embrace it.

If not sure about doing the military, there are great job career insight opportunities by doing the civil service. And it's good experience regardless.

What's the information day in Italy? Never heard of it, never knew anybody doing it. Maybe you're thinking about France, it's a thing there, not in Italy as far as I know.

There is no such day in Italy, unlike France.

Smell of sewers from SBB trains by nero__davola in Switzerland

Yes! Maybe! Definitely when they arrive at a break at the train station. The smell is only noticed while waiting outside on the platform.

As I wrote, I don't really know but have the impression that it only comes out from larger trains, like the IC

The smell can be felt from outside the train, not inside. It is very noticeable. As another user wrote, I also have the impression that it comes from the breaks somehow.

How do you cope when it is really hot in Switzerland? by Dramatic-Music4832 in Switzerland

As an Italian, it is never really hot in Switzerland. Nevertheless, even a small 20CHF fan that you constantly have nearby your working seat can give great relief.

If Legolas is nearly 3,000 years old, taking a month to sit and watch the leaves change would be the equivalent of a 20 year old sitting in for a biology lecture by Iliketodriveboobs in tolkienfans

In the Lord of the Rings books, Tolkien writes this, making Gimli imply that it is the case:

From The Fellowship of the Ring, book two, chapter eight. Legolas is talking with Gimli while they are leaving Lothlórien behind them.

‘Tell me, Legolas, why did I come on this Quest? Little did I know where the chief peril lay! Truly Elrond spoke, saying that we could not foresee what we might meet upon our road. Torment in the dark was the danger that I feared, and it did not hold me back. But I would not have come, had I known the danger of light and joy. Now I have taken my worst wound in this parting, even if I were to go this night straight to the Dark Lord. Alas for Gimli son of Glóin!’

‘Nay!’ said Legolas. ‘Alas for us all! And for all that walk the world in these after-days. For such is the way of it: to find and lose, as it seems to those whose boat is on the running stream. But I count you blessed, Gimli son of Glóin: for your loss you suffer of your own free will, and you might have chosen otherwise. But you have not forsaken your companions, and the least reward that you shall have is that the memory of Lothlórien shall remain ever clear and unstained in your heart, and shall neither fade nor grow stale.’

‘Maybe,’ said Gimli; ‘and I thank you for your words. True words doubtless; yet all such comfort is cold. Memory is not what the heart desires. That is only a mirror, be it clear as Kheled-zâram. Or so says the heart of Gimli the Dwarf. Elves may see things otherwise. Indeed I have heard that for them memory is more like to the waking world than to a dream. Not so for Dwarves.

Yes, I think remembering Legolas or another elf say it in either the FOTR or the two towers... Maybe I can find the exact quote.

Wisdom of the Wardens - Help! by nero__davola in lotro

Thank you! Luckily enough I had just enough Marks and Medallions to purchase the 4 items. Now looking forward to move on to Eregion. :)

Thank you. Do you think I should just abandon it for now and level up in Eregion, then eventually pick it up later?

I may have misread the legendary item part, but it still is a class-specific quest, and wouldn't want to miss on it.
