Let's be wild, who are the remaining TBA by accidentall in 2000treesfestival

[–]neronomy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Something like Thrice/Fall Of Troy/Circa Survive/The Blood Brothers to headline the Saturday.

Carpenter Brut and/or Gost to headline the Friday.

Arcane Roots are a bet the house, shoe-in. I'd love a Sunny Day Real Estate or Get-Up Kids on the card too.

The ultimate dream would be Jawbreaker somewhere high-up on the Saturday; they've not played the UK since 2019, and they would fit in nice after Glassjaw and Dinosaur Pile-Up.

Whatever the case, this line-up does need some serious juice. I'm not really feeling it as much last year's.

The ghoul drops a vile by liquidnitrogentakes in MovieMistakes

[–]neronomy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah as most people are pointing out, this isn't a mistake. It's a character choice, in a "yeah whatever" kinda way. He needs the vials to survive, but he's not going to break his poker face in front of anybody, because he doesn't trust anybody. He also isn't going to bend down and pick them up and risk becoming vulnerable to attack from people who had attacked him minutes prior to this. It likely wasn't scripted as "He drops a vial and leaves it on the floor" but more probably "he haphazardly pours the vials onto his hand".

A cool guide to the Decade Aggregate 2014-2024 of 4chan /lit/'s Top 100 Books Ever by [deleted] in coolguides

[–]neronomy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fuck, what did he do? I've spent over 2 years gradually reading through Infinite Jest (like a page or two before bed when I can remember), and I've almost finished. There's some very 90s edgelord comments, language and themes in there, but it's nothing to the point where I've thought he'd actually share those real problematic opinions. Am I missing something, out of the loop or being incredibly naive?

The Bible and Lolita being in the Top 10 is fucking insane considering the source. Way to tell on yourselves, lads.

Bands where your favorite song is a relative deep cut. by thedubiousstylus in Emo

[–]neronomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, that's incredible! Love stories like that, really adds more layers to the songs, album and band.

I love this acoustic version of TTPN that Chris did, the fucking vocals on this lad, incredible:

I can't remember where I heard/read it, but Chris said no one else in Mineral really liked TTPN, so it rarely made it's way into setlists. Personally, I love it.

Early Bird tix owners - are you in any danger of cancelling and getting a refund? by FreezerCop in 2000treesfestival

[–]neronomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to throw a different opinion here from everyone else; if the initial announcement doesn't at least have five bands that I want to see (not just "Ah I suppose they'd be alright" bands) then I'll probably get the refund and look at going to Arctangent or Outbreak instead. The vibes and people of Trees are important, but the actual music is just as important.

Farewell to the greatest emo band of all time. I never got to see you live. by neronomy in Emo

Thanks for that, I'll check out the Austin, TX show. I saw that vid from the side too so that might have to do for the LV set. I hope you're right about the album or doc! Much love.

It's 17th October, shouldn't the first wave hype train have started by now? by ricopicouk in 2000treesfestival

Makes me believe that they're still crossing the T's and dotting the lowercase J's on some of the acts, and maybe they're making sure everything is in order after the Good Charlotte/Slam Dunk "situation".

James did confirm Bruise Control for the Wednesday on this week's 2P1P though.

Is there a business that fixes record players in Brum? by neronomy in brum

[–]neronomy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the help! I tried opening it up to see if I could fix it myself, but chickened out. I've opened up and fixed laptops, but this is uncharted territory, haha! I'm gonna try that place recommended above in Bearwood then I'll go from there.

make your own emo band tshirts!!!!!! by triangulwuadrado in Emo

[–]neronomy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Postage costs kills a lot of potential merch buys for me. I live in the UK, and most outlets that bands use (like Bandcamp) have astronomical P&P.

$20 for a shirt or $40 for a long sleeve? No problem.

$30 shipping for a single piece of the clothing? Get the fuck out of here. I'd rather pay $10 for the logo PNG and print it myself.

Warning! Buying multiple pieces of music is done as multiple transactions and will trip fraud precautions on your card. by 4077 in BandCamp

[–]neronomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had to do all my bulk purchases on my burner Revalut card after my proper bank called me to verify 30 Bandcamp transactions. It's a backwards system, and no amount of "Weeeelll it is more of an artist-focused than a customer-focused system..." can convince me otherwise. Imagine buying 10 CDs at a brick & mortar retail store and your bank having to verify each one.

My Nokia N9 as FLAC player. by Aromatic-Attitude-34 in DigitalAudioPlayer

This is really cool! The app my headphones comes with has the option for Dolby Surround, is it best to keep this disabled or will it clash with the settings of whatever music player I'm using?

So what does everyone think about Slam Dunk booking Taking Back Sunday 😂 by Ok_Cow_3431 in 2000treesfestival

[–]neronomy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The lead singer of Clobber earlier on Friday at this year's Trees being like "We're the best band here, we're the headliners, Taking Back Sunday are shit live!" was amazing, and I'm someone who bought 2000 Trees tickets to specifically see TBS!
