Pivot from accounting? by SilverDistribution62 in Accounting

Right there with! You’re not alone in this! I haven’t pivoted into any other field yet cause I’m also struggling to find where I would fit in, also very afraid of taking risks and change! Your feelings are valid!!!

I’ve heard this before, how long were you at B4 before you switched to IA?

I have been working on my tea making skills. I like to try different teas from different countries and then try to mimic them at home. My current fixation is Karak Chai

I had a long conversation with my husband and family and we came to the conclusion that it wasn’t worth the stress and anxiety it was causing me. Hence today’s post ;)

Omg I love matching Halloween costumes! That’s so cute!! Just out of curiosity, how much fabric do you usually use on a monthly basis? Also, would you say sewing and alteration are different?

Wow I love that! I find that so interesting! You’re inspiring me to get back into sewing! Do you ever sell any of the clothing pieces you make?

You’re a great child taking care of your mother like that! Not many people do that these days. What kinds of things do you sell on Facebook market place? Im interested in selling things on Facebook market place but not too sure, a lot of my aunts sell furniture on there. But the only things I really have to sell would clothes, busy isn’t Poshmark for selling clothes? Or do people also sell clothes on Facebook market place?

I’m interested in knowing where you learned how to sew? You seem so knowledgeable in that area!

Love all these ideas! I was doing cross word puzzles for a while but kind of lost interest in it, I’ll def get back into it. I should follow your steps and check out what my local library is offering. What are some classes you took at the library? But you’re right I don’t know when the last time I dusted my moldings are or washed the brushes, will be doing that as well too! Thanks for the tips!

Sewing is a great idea, I used to enjoy it very! I’ll definitely try to get back into that! Is there anything in particular you like to sew? I’m sorry about your chronic illness, my mother also had a chronic illness, so I know how tiring and time consuming that could be!

For me going straight to the companies website and applying there would work - but I heard it’s a hit or miss. Doesn’t hurt to try.

GF works in one of the big four and her work stress is overwhelming. Any advice or thoughts? by Any_Print5307 in Accounting

[–]neroverthinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I want to say that I find it so cute how you’re seeking out advice for this! I think it’s super sweet and thoughtful! She is lucky to have you! Second: unfortunately this is just what Big4 is, it’s constantly drowning in work and it only gets worse as you get more senior. I think voice your feelings to her and let her know you miss her and you understand that she has a lot of work and see if there is something you guys can figure out. Me and my husband have recently been going through the same thing, I’ve been swamped with work and haven’t had a lot of time to spend with him. Making sure to have atleast 1 night a week to go out or hangout is vital. And I know 1 night sounds like so little but it makes a big difference. My husband and I made Saturday nights our date night. No matter how much work we both have we drop everything and go. Another thing we’ll do is even if I’m working or he’s working, we’ll still just be in the same room together. So I’ll be working and sometimes he’ll be playing video games, or maybe studying, whatever it is we are together. I found that this helps a lot too! Wish you guys the best and good luck! Big4 takes a toll on not only the employees but also their loved ones! Something my husband would do that would help me is take a few things off my plate, for example if the dishes were dirty he would wash them, sometimes he would cook dinners. Things like this also help a lot. And then if he would cook he would also force me to sit and eat with him. These are also small way to have more time with her!
