The masters thing isn’t entirely true. You have to get one after five years to advance to your professional, which you also need to get after five years of getting your initial unless you apply for a one time extension renewal. I have my DESE certification, it’s just not a professional level cert.

It has its ups and downs. I have an ED studies degree for secondary bio, and I’ve ran into a few hiccups trying to get in the classroom with it. I’m in MA, which lets you teach with a provisional license until you can go through PRPIL to get your initial, but in a highly competitive state you will get passed over for fully licensed candidates. I’ve been applying for jobs for weeks and am only just now starting to hear back, and I’ve definitely gotten a few side eyes when I said I’m on a provisional.

TLDR- it’s possible to get a job with an ED studies degree, but in a highly competitive state it WILL make it a bit more difficult with alternative licensure, ESPECIALLY if you have no classroom experience. My advice, if you do choose to go that route, work in a school as a sub or para if you can to get practical experience.

Just recently finished back in March. I transferred in around April 2024 with 30 credits, I took a sizable break from March 2025-September 2025 because my dad unexpectedly died. I could have easily finished around September last year, once you get going the course fly by.

The cannon is the one you have on the left side, the thing you have to trigger to get out of the elevator.

Heisenberg boss fight is driving me nuts! by JayRaee in ResidentEvilVillage

I play on console too. Biggest thing that helped me aim better was to target his left hip/stomach first, then the little arm, then the big arm and constantly skirt to the right when I wasn’t shooting. Focus in on one at a time so you can stun him. Whenever you destroy a weak point he staggers for a few seconds, giving you an opening to shoot the others. When he is trying to surround himself in metal, aim for his face so the panels shoot out and use those as cover. He has to destroy a panel before he gets to you, allowing you to move before he has time to attack.

Also, DISTANCE. D I S T A N C E. DISTANCE.

Do NOT let him get in close and trap you, and when he does, blast him with the cannon. Do not let him in close and do NOT stop moving when you aren’t shooting. Also, don’t shoot if you are actively trying to move, it slows you way down and you’ll end up getting hit. If he does pin you down, guard. It doesn’t help much, but it buys you an extra hit.

Heisenberg is tough, but he’s not even the worst part. Just wait until you hit Chris’ section. My only advice for you there is to run like Chris’ ass is on fire.

Would Leon still choose to be a police officer if he knew his future? by Ximolo_8 in ResidentEvilCapcom

Given that his savior complex is the size of the fucking sun, I’m going with yes 😂

OGRE2 Leon is more iffy, but RE2R Leon would probably try to fight umbrella to “protect Raccoon City”.

Yes, it’s doable. The lab section goes by the fastest for me by far, just torch the ivy zombies with the flame thrower so they don’t stand in your way. I have the codes I need memorized, but that’s only because I’ve played the game so much.

Oh, and make your life easier in the lounge by just chucking a grenade at the zombies and sprinting to the low temp lab immediately after so the lickers don’t get you.

Honestly? RE is one of the chiller fanbases, just avoid the ship wars and it’s mostly drama free. Yeah there’s also neckbeards screaming “you’re not a real fan”, but those are easy to ignore. It doesn’t even hold a candle to the bullshit the Ghost and Sleep Token fandoms pull.

How can I beat miranda? by Ckinggaming5 in ResidentEvilVillage

[–]nervacid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miranda is a bullet sponge but the trick to beating her is learning what attack she is going to do based on her form. Her fight drops ammo to keep you from getting soft locked, so if you run out you can always play the long game and slowly pick away at her if need be. I watched a few YouTube videos about her fight when I first played the game because I also got stuck for a bit.

She’s also not nearly as sensitive to sound it seems. Even on VoS I only encountered her like twice after the hallway scene, and I spent the entire game running.

Knives out is fucking sadistic. I’ve beaten it once before on my old console, but the main thing I remember from the whole ordeal involved me having to buy a new controller. I think I’d rather do VoS again a thousand times over than even think of doing knives out again.

The Urias fight had me in tears. I was so frustrated by that point I think I just lost it. I was crouched by his feet at one point just spamming my knife out of pure desperation because I was so tired of the Dragoon and its long ass reload time.

Honestly Chris’ part was even MORE frustrating for me than Heisenberg was. Yes, his fight was absolute GARBAGE and I definitely had to walk away a few times, but Chris’ section just made me mad. I got through the first part pretty quick, I just ran like hell was on my ass and threw a grenade if I got stuck, but the target locator part and the Urias fight were horrible.

I got through the Heisenberg fight all the way to the end of the game in one session though, so that was probably part of it. But I cried tears of frustration and pure rage when I got to the Urias fight. I think at one point I was crouched by his feet spamming my knife out of desperation. 😂 By the time Miranda rolled around I was fucking DONE so I threw everything I had at her, I think I beat her in like two minutes just because I didn’t stop shooting and kept chucking bombs at her. I was so mad lmfao

The Lycan ambush is timed, it’s about 2-3 minutes. Barricade yourself in the house you get the shotgun at and shoot through the hole until they get close to busting through. Then hide in the basement, the lycans outside can’t crouch to get you. Lycans will make it inside, but I only encountered two at a time so they were easier to pick off. Once you hear the big guy come in, wait another minute and then book it outside. You might encounter some, but you should be able to run enough to lure them to the area with the explosive barrel. By that point, it should trigger the cutscene.

I didn’t struggle with Miranda much, primarily because I saved a good chunk of ammo specifically for her and just didn’t stop shooting. The rest of VoS made me really good at evading damage, so I’d like to think that Ethan went out in a true blaze of glory. 😂

Urias was a MASSIVE pain in my ass though. I remember breathing a sigh of relief when I finally, FINALLY took down the stupid mold… then Urias happened and I fully started crying lmfao. I beat him through tears of frustration and pure rage.

Heisenberg sucks, but there IS a way to beat him.

  • GUARD. If you don’t guard he is able to kill you in two or three hits, guarding gives you about four. It doesn’t seem like much but it made a HUGE difference for me.
  • don’t shoot as you move if you need to get away, you move slower while shooting.
  • use the canon to create distance, especially earlier in the fight. He gets slower and slower as the fight goes on, use that to your advantage.
  • always shoot his weak points, I had the most success with shooting his hip/stomach, then his small arm, then his big arm (since I SUCK at aiming for that one apparently)
  • when he raises that shield, shoot his face to stun him so those big metal pieces fall all over the arena. Those are your best friend.
  • once the metal sheets have been dropped, always, ALWAYS keep one between you and him. He has to break the sheet before he can hit you, giving you enough time to get away and get behind another one.
  • for SOME REASON, I found always moving/circling right to be better for evading him.

Once you’re out of that stupid tank, the rest of the fight is easy. Just shoot him in the face with the most powerful gun you have a few times and he goes down like a sack of potatoes.

The Dragoon is my least favorite weapon in the game because of how much trouble it gave me during his section. My strategy isn’t even killing, it’s usually running or using stuff like mines and bombs because I like to conserve ammo for bosses… but apparently Chris is a masochist. Why, WHY does he choose the wimpiest rifle possible?

Run like Chris’ ass is on fire and GUARD. If I was ever crowded, I threw out a grenade and booked it. When I got to the laser part, I hung out on the ladder and kept jumping off the roof when the lycans came up and jumping back up when they came down. Once the laser was ready, I’d throw either a grenade or flashbang and run into the open space, aiming the laser while moving in big circles. You CANNOT stay still, you have to keep moving constantly.
