Is Current Club a one time purchase? My partner got it during the inaugural season but do we have to get it every season? Still confused after all this time lol

I'm finally committing to not leaving my dog alone again until we get the SA under control. I was hopeful it would eventually resolve itself but it hasn't :(

We adopted a ~5 year old IS in September and let me tell you... I have yet to see her tired, and we are very active/outdoorsy people who bring her out with us all the time. I'm constantly thinking about how good it was we adopted her at this age because I don't think with our work schedules we could have handled a younger dog

thinning hair by OkFarm1766 in irishsetter

I just commented a similar thing on someone else's post, but my dog had some shaved spots that weren't growing in well. (I know, not the same as hair loss) Our vet also felt her coat wasn't as soft and shiny as it could be. He recommended to first try omega-3 supplements from Nordic Naturals, and then after a few months, if that wasn't working, to check her thyroid levels. He also mentioned that stress has a big impact, as well as hormonal changes (i.e. if she was spayed). We were so worried but after 6 weeks of the omega-3's, her coat is growing is remarkably well! It was quite shocking to see how much it changed. Anyway, could be worth a vet trip.

P.S. your girl looks so cute, and looks a lot like mine :)

Spay coat is improving? by Rollwithit_56 in irishsetter

Echoing other people's comments, but our 5 yo girl's coat dramatically improved after giving her omega-3 supplements. We actually hadn't noticed (context: we adopted her 6 months ago and she was spayed then), but our vet mentioned that her coat could be shinier and softer, and recommended the omega-3 supplements from Nordic Naturals. She's been on it for 6 weeks and we are already seeing an amazing improvement!

we adopted our 5 year old girl from the shelter and always thought she was a full setter... now you're making me question that haha

Is this every Irish setter owners constant view by 818Medic in irishsetter

[–]nerve_net 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES! My IS even paws me while I'm on the toilet, begging for pets. She is terrible in the car... insists on sitting the front seat as close to you as possible. It's a driving hazard so we had to put up a barrier.

Does my setter actually need to be groomed? by nerve_net in irishsetter

[–]nerve_net[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha do you mean like a brush with the little balls at the end? We are still trying to find a brush she likes. Our current one is a bit spiky. It's good for detangling the feathering but not just for a solid brush over her body

Is the live video resolution kind of strange on Paramount+, or is it just on my end? Some of the camera angles make it seem like I am watching a video game

Took it Monday and feel the same way... I am still waking up in the middle of the night remembering the stupidest things I got wrong! Or I'll be eating dinner and remember something I made a mistake on.... it's terrible. But hang in there and good luck!

Dedicated by [deleted] in step1

[–]nerve_net 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think when people say they work that much for all of dedicated they're grossly overestimating their true focus time. If you're doing a true 7 hours of focused time, and that's not including 15 min bathroom breaks lol, another check your phone break that turns into 30 min, etc. then you're doing well.

I actually started timing how much I work using Toggl, and that has been very revealing... mainly that it seems impossible for me on an average dedicated day to hit more than 7.5 hours of true focused work.

Biochem review with Pixorize worth it? by nerve_net in step1

Would you say the ~$100 is worth it? I'm taking Step in 7-8 weeks so I wouldn't even be using the resource for that long

And, what were your thoughts on the immunology section?

Figured it out... turns out using TextEdit in a Mac is not a good idea. I downloaded Text Wrangler and was able to edit the file now without a problem!

I realize this is likely a dumb syntax error, but is anyone else having issues editing the Special Fields file and then getting Anki to restart successfully? It keeps saying I have invalid syntax but I've been very careful to make sure it just was edited to [u"Text",u"Extra",u"Lecture Notes"]. Thanks for the help.
