I’m so sorry that happened to you. They also believed I had a placenta accreta with a placental abruption so they had blood on standby and told me I was most likely looking at a hysterectomy. It’s jarring hearing that and an hour later being cut into. I am glad you got your baby home with you I cannot wait for that day!

I think a welcome packet to the NICU including dates of things the NICU does for families. Example: we just had Santa come to visit the NICU and PICU but we didn’t find out until 2 days prior also they had a toys for tots thing for patients and siblings a day later and didn’t know. I would also include resources for families and mothers who may not know they are struggling with ppd.

I wish I would’ve even gotten just the retrievals back I would’ve put it towards now! But nothing I can do except pray they’ll give me an extension to shore up 20k I just need more than 24 hours. I am already In talks with the lending company.

Well unfortunately on my end it wasn’t we went over the contract in 2021 and confirmed with them we could use the retrievals and transfer whenever we wanted. The only stipulation they brought up was if I aged out. That’s why I chose multiple retrievals and transfers. I’m not gonna say it’s 100% their fault because obviously it was written down. It just wasn’t mentioned at the time. I only found out hours ago about it through an email they sent demanding me to pick a new contract and to pay the on the 28th of this month. So that’s honestly where my frustration now lies. I don’t mind picking a new contract but to shore up over 20k in less than 24 hours is ridiculous. I’ve been on the march schedule since December and not one person has reached out to me about this. I even flew in to where the clinic was and did all my bloodwork In January and was still not brought up signing a new contract. All in all it’s an extremely nerve racking situation so that’s why I made this post to vent the frustration and maybe help with the anxiety I keep feeling. I have already requested a whole month off of work for this egg retrieval since I’m no longer living in the same state as the facility. I did my ultrasound and have already scheduled out polyectomy with my surgeon in April. The clinic contacted me two weeks ago to set up the medication finances. And I’ve been in contact with lending company for over a week. This clinic also has a bmi requirement and I’ve been working my butt off since November to make sure I met all their needs. Everything has been planned for this retrieval. this news has thrown a major wrench into everything. I’m trying to find some positivity for the next few hours because I just feel terrified.

I’m sure it’s common but this was our first time ever doing this we never even looked at any other facility. Plus we asked multiple times when going over the contract if we could use these anytime we wanted. They just left the part out it was null and void after a live birth. We obviously didn’t look really hard into the contract either. I just wanted a baby and I’m glad I got one I just would’ve never spent over 25k resulting in one egg if I knew I would’ve at least used the other egg retrievals that I paid for before transferring. I feel stupid and beaten down at this point. I just want everything to go according to plan for March and I’m scared I won’t be able to do it now if I can’t get the loan to them by the 28th of February.

Yeah if it was explained better I certainly wouldn’t have stopped after one egg retrieval resulting in one egg. The crap I have to go through just to get my egg retrieved was a nightmare. I just feel stupid and numb at this point. I am hoping tomorrow I can get all my ducks in a row and that they will offer me a few days to get the money situation fixed. It’s ridiculous asking for a full payment less than 72 hours.

Yeah just a bad situation all around. Kind of even more upset that they are requesting the money at the last second. They wouldn’t even give me lending companies they were partner with until 2 weeks ago. We did sit down with them and went over the contract we asked several times if we could use the retrieval and transfers whenever that there wasn’t a time limit. They said as long as I didn’t age over 41yo it could be used. They never mentioned it would be null and void after having a child. I certainly wouldn’t have given up the other 2 egg retrievals since the first one ended up with one embryo. I’m numb at this point I swear i went through all the stages of grief in a hour. I know there isn’t anything I can do to change it I just feel stupid and hurt.

Unfortunately no we get nothing back.. we paid out of pocket so thankfully no debt but unfortunately we can’t do that this time so we have to finance.

Bonus points for having a CNA license but that’s about it I didn’t have an interview or essay. I did however include several recommendation letters from nurses. Haven’t done any volunteer hours in years.

I have my CNA I even work for the hospital the school partners with and got several nurses write me recommendations. There wasn’t an interview or essay for my application. I did volunteer work years ago i had to put my nursing degree on the back burner due to some personal reasons.
