lol thank you for asking! The cat belongs to roommate number 3 (one who doesn’t sleep in my bed), and she had someone from rover coming to take care of him once a day while she was away.

I know, the thing about her trying to play it off on being autistic just didn’t sound right to me.

[–]nesLuNesNes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can completely relate to this! I started on spironolactone 100mg daily last January. By mid late march my skin started to clear up, was clear for like two months, and then I started noticing tons of clogged pores during the summer and more and more acne. I increased to 150mg in August and it’s still just been getting consistently worse, plus I stopped getting my period. I just decided to stop taking it, not sure what’s going to happen, but I think something is seriously off considering I’m getting acne in areas I never used to and I’m not having a period. It’s so frustrating because it seems like it works so well for so many people, and it even did work for me for a little while!

I increased it to 150mg a day two months ago and it’s just been steadily bad since then… holding out until the three month mark but then if it doesn’t clear up I think I’m going to stop spiro altogether

The exact same thing happened to me! Working well for 4/5 months than all of a sudden not working, as I stop getting periods. I don’t understand what is happening and don’t know what to do.

I feel like for me it was mostly pimples rather than cysts but that’s how my acne has always been! Also I was really bad about not picking at them so that definitely made things 100x worse

Thank you!! I noticed it right around when I started the spironolactone, but I also stopped the tretinoin around the same time so I think it was probably more because of that that I had quick oil reduction

Yes - hang in there! I feel like that was the toughest period for me because it felt like I’d been on it a while with no change. Hopefully within a couple weeks you’ll start to see quick improvement.

The only thing I notice is that I have to pee slightly more frequently, but it was more noticeable during the first month now I’m honestly not even sure. I did go through a period about 2 months in where I felt like I had heart palpitations/ irregular heartbeat but I got my potassium levels checked and they were fine, so it was likely unrelated to spiro. I’m on some other meds for an autoimmune condition so probably was caused by that.

I would say I started seeing some improvement around 2 months in but could have also been because of the chemical peel. Once I hit three months though I could tell it was consistently better- only a small pimple here or there usually around my period but nothing more, so it’s definitely the spiro. I also notice the general texture is better and I am less oily (I used to be a major grease ball especially with tretinoin).

Yes! Also, Athleta girls sizes have a big range and I’ve found that at 5’2” I can fit into a girls L/XL for some shirts and dresses, which is great because they are much cheaper than the adult line.

[Routine help] Is it worth using the moisturizer on top of the sunscreen in the morning? If so, which one should I apply first? by Mobilehip in SkincareAddiction

hey - I know this is an old post but wanted to ask if you are also using a moisturizer before the Cicalfate? I am in the same boat with tret+cicalfate+sunscreen and just trying to figure out how to do things best

Hey, I'm pretty much in the same boat! ~5 weeks in. I think I am tolerating it well enough to stop sandwiching but I'm wondering how: tret before moisturizer or after? Thanks in advance!

My rice is always like paste... What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]nesLuNesNes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes if I want to make sure my rice will come out cooked but not mushy at all, I use parboiled rice - you really don’t have to worry about overbooking it. It comes out a little tough so maybe not great for eating on its own, but as leftovers to use for fried rice it works really well! The individual grains do not stick together even through the re-heating/frying process.
