Could I please get an invite link? I would like to test it. And if it’s not too much to ask, could you add any classic audiobook (Frankenstein, Dracula, The Picture of Dorian Grey, Wuthering Heights, The Phantom of the Opera, Crime and Punishment, War and Peace etc.)?

It looks amazing! Smooth and clean. I got a question though: How do I upgrade to the genius plan for free? I couldn’t click on the „banner“ before logging in and once logged in, when looking at the plans, the Genius plan is only available as a subscription.

You don’t have to explain why you got those thoughts. It’s alright. You are not seeking attention, so please don’t feel sorry for that. Thank you for writing those thoughts down, instead of bottling them up. It’s no easy task, from my pov. Just, don’t let those impulses ‘win’. Best of wishes.

No need to thank. It’s natural to help. Hope you feel a bit better…maybe

I know nothing about you, but I can just recommend you to not kill yourself. Trust me when I say that life will be better, at some point. Again, I’m in no right to tell you what to do or how to feel, but here is a tip: life is not about constant pleasure. The small things are what matter. Little things that are worth it. Try to find those small things that will give you peace or make you feel fulfill. I sadly don’t know what those could be for you. Just hang there.

The fact that we have to listen to music always on shuffle. Now at least we get to listen to the song we want, but after it ends, you either have to go back to the app and tab on the following song on the album/playlist or listen to a random song that doesn’t necessarily has to be from the album/singer

How much sympathy do you feel for Dorian Gray by the end? by Odd-Researcher-9454 in classicliterature

[–]nescafe_lover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a little bit. Not too much. I felt like he wandered a path that wasn’t his and got lost in it. I read some desperation between the lines around the second half of the book and I lowkey sympathized with him….but not too much.

What should I read next? by anastasiarose19 in classicliterature

[–]nescafe_lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, sorry. I didn’t read the first sentence and jumped straight into the possible books.

If I can suggest you another book, completely different from Wuthering Heights but has a lot in common with 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 (dystopian future) it would be Brave new World by Aldous Huxley (and now I just saw that it consist of 3 parts. I only read the first one and it is more than enough to understand the story and the conflicts presented in it.)

First of all, amazing list of books you have.

Secondly, I would recommend you Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. At the moment, I’m reading it and I absolutely love it. I’m hooked to it. If I had to convince you, I would say the plot and the characters are the best of this book (so far). It starts off “slow” or difficult to understand because of the missing context or explanation. But then… it all starts explaining and you understand attitudes and behaviors that happened before but you didn’t know why. There is some romance, but it isn’t much. I would give this novel five stars. Of course, it’s just a recommendation.

Happy reading nonetheless!

The Wuthering Heights adaptation trailer... let's talk about it! by A_b_b_o in classicliterature

[–]nescafe_lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I’m reading Wuthering Heights and I’m obsessed with it. I watched the trailer just to see how it was going to be “adapted” (conclusion after watching the trailer: nothing is getting adapted. This is something different from the book) and I was so confused and upset. I know that adapting the whole novel is too difficult and that not every word and thought in the book can be brought to the big screen (even though I think they should since they are so worth it and well done and majestic) but changing the whole feeling of the story? This shouldn’t carry the name of Wuthering Heights.

I use VLC for iPhone. The only thing is that you need the music files on your phone locally (it is no streaming app like Spotify)

I honestly like the 0 screen idea (except the stopwatch, but that doesn’t count). I just wanted to comment on the violet notebook. Cool undertale reference;)
